Black Diamond Raven Ice Axe

I chose the 90 cm ice axe for hiking in the wilderness. I am 5'6" and the ice axe is approximately waste high. It is very lightweight and sturdy. It makes a great weapon if needed and well as an assist when walking in hazardous winter conditions. Great for making a drainage trench around your tent. I customized mine by changing the color with paint and with colored plastic tape ,which can be removed and used in the woods for making repairs. It can also give you an extra arm length and help you get over hurdles. Black Raven is not limited to just climbing Mount Everest, however it will help you with reaching that goal.

I'm usually pretty lazy about writing reviews for products I purchase but this bad boy saved my life on multiple occasions.Black Diamond makes solid products, this was light weight and fit into my axe strap on my backpack perfectly. I utilized this axe to mountaineer up some peaks and glissade back down. I was able to self-arrest within 2-3 seconds with ease as the axe is quite sharp and stuck right into the ice. For going up it supported my weight and the pick stuck right into the snow/ice with ease. I didn't have to put to much of a downward push to get it to stick as it's sharp!10/10 would recommend!

Solid, sturdy, sharper than it looks. Took it up and down Shasta this weekend and it served me well - not too heavy, has a balanced feel to it. Wielding an ice axe also makes you feel more confident (again, be careful - the spike sliced through my shell pants, tights, and flesh while I used it as a paddle for glissading). Caveat: this is my first ice axe so I can't offer much perspective for comparison.

Light, strong, sharp. Will tear up you stuff if you don't cover the tip. Indispensable while hiking up a glacier, both as a climbing aid and for self-arresting when you all of a sudden "decide" to Glissade down the mountain.I was really unsure about what length to get, and eventually went with 75cm, I'm 5'10". It seemed a bit long at first, as the pick would occasionally scrape the ground while walking on a flat and with the T cradled in my fingers, however once we started attacking the slope, the long length was perfect. I was able to pick on the uphill side without having to lean over, even in relatively soft conditions where the shaft would sink really deep, while a few of my companions that went with the shorter axes struggled.And bonus, now I can seriously say "don't mess with me man, I have an ice-axe". So, totally worth it.

Extremely light and comfortable. Does its job well - I had a lot of fun glissading from South Sister and Mt Adams. The only problem I have with it is the grip - could be improved since it slides in gloves quite a bit.

We go ice climbing and hiking in very icy conditions. We have two and they work great. Light weight enough to carry around and strong enough to keep you safe.

This item is pretty much WYSIWYG. Looks like a solid, well made, general mountaineering axe.

What expected. Very light. Always been a black diamond fan.

ブレードと柄の接合部分が少し細くなっていて、手になじみます。山行中ずっと持っていても疲れません。身長167cmでネットを参考に60cmのものを買ったのですが、実際の山行にはもっと長め、70cmぐらいのほうが使いやすい、とベテランに言われました。

握りが予想通り。他にはないのでこれにしました。
