The King Turtle!
The King Turtle! This upgraded version of the iconic Turtle is the perfect Seiko factory answer to the seiko modding community. Cool waffle dial, sapphire crystal with cyclops, and machined bezel with ceramic insert makes a tastefully upgraded Turtle. And of course, it's a Seiko so the build quality is superb and the value for money is unmatched! I love this watch; it is comfortable enough to wear all day every day, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great addition to their collection.

A Stunning Timepiece for Divers and Enthusiasts Alike
This is a beautiful watch, perfect for divers or anyone who appreciates a rugged, reliable timepiece. At first, I thought it would be larger based on the pictures, but once I had it in hand, the size felt just right—comfortably balanced depending on your wrist. The accuracy has been impressive. I’ve had it in a winder box for a week now, and it’s kept perfect time. As expected from Seiko, this watch exemplifies quality. It’s one of the few brands that manufactures everything in-house, which speaks volumes about its reliability and craftsmanship—especially at this price point. The watch feels solid and well-built, and the rubber strap is both comfortable and durable. The green dial adds a distinctive touch that really sets it apart. Overall, an excellent value for a timepiece that delivers both style and performance.

Awesome job Seiko!
Sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel with recessed lume pip, NICE rubber strap, beautiful waffle dial, Seiko's famous lume for days on dial and hands, perfect alignment on chapter ring and dial, perfect cyclops alignment, what's not to love? Out of the box and straight on to the time grapher after a good wind indicates zero beat error and +3 seconds per day. FINALLY a watch I don't have to modify or tweak as soon as I get it! She's as perfect as can be! Seiko really hit this one out of the park!

Killer
Legit time peice. I was in the market for my first automatic everyday watch. After doing some digging I settled on this one. I know hit and miss QC of Seiko is a thing but the one I have is pretty flawless. No dust under the sapphire, face is clean, hands are sharp and defined well, and the lume is perfect. I wear this watch almost daily. I like the candy bar cyclops. It's centered well and magnifies to my liking. The stock silicone strap is very nice and comfortable. Brought this watch out during summer camping, swimming, even kayaking and to hung in there and impressed me tons over my orient Kamasu. The day and date on my Kamasu was not maintaining accuracy. I could not get the day and date to sync at all so I sold it and got this peice instead and its keeping better date and time. Everything is synced up and accurate. Mine is running about +2 sec a day and that's perfectly fine with me. Watch is continuing to look great and rugged. Looking at more Prospex models and explore more Seiko options.

Nearly Perfect.
I don't write reviews- ever. But after a year with this watch, I felt compelled to write one. Background: I am coming from the ~US$1500 range (Marathon 36mm MSAR Auto/Stowa 41mm Flieger 6498) of watches. At the time of purchase, I paid US$420 for this watch. This watch is currently my daily driver. I have a 17.5cm (6.92inch) wrist and it fits just about perfectly with no overhang due to the shorter lug to lug. Weight is good, caseback looks and feels premium, and the band is super supple (can wear for extended periods of time without any sort of fatigue or discomfort). The grenade dial fits the general theme and aesthetic very well. Lume is fantastic, but lasts shorter than the initial hit. Initial use for the first couple of months saw a -25 to -30s/day accuracy rating. The bezel aligns great, functions admirably and doubles wonderfully as a fidget spinner. A word to the wise: If you attempt to regulate your watch movement for the first time, it is a rabbit hole I do not recommend you go down. I managed to initially get the watch regulated to -5s/day but I overdid it by touching the mainspring which bricked it completely. I got another brand new regulated 4R36 movement with a Kanji day-date, which was surprisingly easy to install and now the watch is pretty much perfect. Conclusion: Everything's great except the initial accuracy. But if you know anything about Seikos, if it runs slow you can just shake it really hard for like a minute and it will catch up!

Probably the best mid-tier Seiko diver available
The "king turtle" is a known entity at this point---upgrading the bezel to cermamic and the crystal to sapphire from the original turtle. I've never owned the "basic" turtle, but I've heard that the silicon strap on this watch is also an upgrade. I really like the strap, but also wear it on a nylon ("nato"-style) strap and an Uncle Seiko beads of rice bracelet with fitted endlinks (I highly recommend this last, but it is a *pain* to put on). I really like the green waffle-dial pattern and the rectangle cyclops. People run hot or cold about the cyclops magnifier, but it provides good magnification (unlike some) and helps disguise the fact that there is absolutely no attention given to the date window at all, it's just a hole in the dial---which I think might be a bit of an eyesore without the cyclops. If you want to debate about the best seiko models, rising prices, etc. then you can find plenty of company on various watch forums. However, for me, this is the best automatic seiko diver in its price tier. Moving a step higher, you get the 62mas reissues, with the upgraded 6rxx movement. Short of those (which will run you around 900-1k from an authorized dealer, and around 700 if you want to import them from the Middle East on ebay) this is it. Iconic design (the famous "willard" model was actually an earlier version of this case design), versatile, and good features for the money. People complain about the accuracy of seiko's automatic movements, especially the 4r series, but I haven't had any trouble. Seiko often provides very conservative stated tolerances with the watch usually overperforming to a significant degree.

Got lucky and pick this up for same cost as normal turtle. Even at market price, Worth the cost upgrade from a normal turtle (sapphire and ceramic bezel). No alignment issues with the one I got. Rubber strap is soft and comfortable. However watch is not as comfortable as my samurai on my 7.5" wrist.
