The subject "Demream Foodles" is fairly loose for interpretation so there are a large variety of designs to choose from. I prefer to use my prismacolor premier alcohol markers to color these pages. Thankfully, all the pages are perforated and one sided so you can tear them out of the book before coloring, as alcohol based markers easily bleed through the paper. The paper is on the thick side, perhaps about a 40 lb. bond. I also use prismacolor and Caran d'Ache watercolor pencils on these pages. The only negative thing about using these pencils is that the paper warps and buckles when even the smallest amount of moisture is applied. I use a water filled brush pen, and I have to make sure it is only damp and not wet when applying water to this page. However, the designs do not contain tiny details so the fine top point of my prismacolor markers fill in the pages with solid and vibrant color. I make sure to detach the page and place a thick absorbant paper underneath the page as I'm coloring to make sure I don't get market stains on my lap desk. I enjoy the variety of designs and the openness of the drawings that easily accommodate the spreading nature of alcohol-based markers. Because of my experience with this book, I have went on and purchased other adult coloring books by this publisher. It is a solid five star product! Review: Beautiful and Imaginative "Doodled" Designs - This is a lovely set of 28 "doodled" style designs which include one or more hidden images within each of the designs. The designs are by artist Kathy Ahrens and each design has lots of swirls and detail which will make coloring it fun while looking for the various hidden elements. At the front of the book, there is a listing of which hidden design features are included and how many of them are spread throughout the book. At the back of the book, there is a key which shows which elements are in each design and where they are located. I would list the hidden elements but I think that would take away the fun of looking for them while you are coloring. Some of the designs have small details and will take some concentration but I don't believe that I will have to use my magnifying lamp for this book. There are a few small parts to some of the designs but nothing that can't be dealt with with a sharp pointed pencil or ultra fine nib/point on a pen. I plan to do my designs in a wild variety of colors. The whole theme of doodling opens the color palette to anything goes. I am thinking that I will use my full variety of pencils, pens, and markers for these designs. I'm not sure if I will try to emphasize the hidden elements or try to blend them in so that others can have fun looking for them, too. I think I may pick up a second copy of the book and do each design with the element emphasized and then again, with the elements hidden. The designs are really lovely, so it will be fun to color them more than once. There are 28 designs in this coloring book. As with all of the Creative Haven books that I have used in the past, these are on a bright white page that is a fairly heavy stock. The designs are printed on one side of the page only and the edges of each page have good perforations which make it easy to remove from the book. All of my gel pens and markers bleed through on Creative Haven books and this book is no different. I use freezer paper or heavy cardstock in between the sheets (if I am keeping it in the book) or under the page if I remove it from the book. I recently (within the last year) have discovered coloring adult color books as a way to relieve the stress of the day. Doodling is another way that I have used in the past to give my brain a break throughout the day. Coloring "doodles" should be both fun and relaxing, too. Finding the hidden elements just adds another dimension the coloring enjoyment for me.

Beautiful Peaceful Drawings
The designs in this book are beautiful and soothing. This is great for art therapy/stress reduction or just plain fun. There are hidden pictures within the pictures on all but a few of the pics. At the front of the book there is a listing of the items to be found and at the end of the book there is a page by page listing with a mini-pic of each page showing the hidden item. The high quality pages have beautiful intricate designs and are perfect for coloring with anything including some markers. I personally tear the page out of the book before use. If using marker check first to see if they bleed through, if so I recommend placing something between pages to prevent it. Book has 28 different drawings and pages are one sided and perforated. This book was delivered quickly and is a great value for the price. It is a really beautiful book and would make a lovely gift.

for relaxation.
I am new to this type of relaxation and I didn't think I would get as hooked as I am. It is a nice book, but as I said, I am new to this and don't have others to compare it with. I bought 3 titles but have only colored in this one. It is fun to relearn colors and how to mix and match and shading. And it is relaxing. Next I will play with different types of coloring pencils and pens. So far I have only used Crayola pencils. They do not leak through the paper and if you catch boo boos soon enough you can even erase small errors.

FUN FOR ALL AGES!
EXCELLENT! CREATIVE HAVEN DREAM DOODLES IS SO MUCH FUN!!! kATHY AHRENS IS MY NEW FAV ARTIST. ALL PAGES PERFORATED, YOU CAN HANG EACH PICTURE! NOT A TON OF BLACK INK, WHERE COLORING CAN BE DONE. PAGES FOR EVERY AGE & ABILITY. LITTLE CHILDREN ,YOUNGSTERS, TEENS, MOMS, DADS, GRANDPARENTS ALL CAN HAVE FUN WITH DREAM DOODLES. MY FAV? THE HIDDEN PICTURES. EVEN IN THE MOST DIFFICULT PAGES, ONE CAN STILL FIND MOST OF THE HIDDEN ITEMS EASILY. I SAY MOST CAUSE I KNOW FINDING A CATAPILLER WILL BE HARD. A FEW OF THE DRAWINGS HAVE LARGE EMPTY SPACES, BUT ONE COULD DOODLE THEMSELVES IN THAT SPACE! MY ONLY HANGUP IS FINDING MY LIGHTER COLORS (COLORED PENCILS) DRAGGING BLACK ink! SHOCKED WHEN THAT HAPPENED WITH WHITE, YELLOWS, LIGHT GREENS--THIS IS WITH 3 DIFFERENT COLOR PENCIL MAKES. NO MATTER WHICH PENCIL I USED IN THE LIGHT COLORS, DRAGGING BLACK HAPPENED. I'M PRETTY GOOD ABOUT STAYING 'INSIDE' THE LINES, BUT EVEN JUST GETTING CLOSE TO THE BLACK WITH ANY LIGHT COLOR CAUSED & bLACK BLEED. COULD IT BE CREATIVE HAVEN IS USING LOWER GRADE INK?
