It's Worth More than it's Worth.
Great build quality, with respectable case. At the end of the day, an overpriced mic has never been a big factor in a great song. I once used a high school musical usb microphone from the wii, and have had people comment on my songs. Put your money into a good preamp and AD/DA converter. This mic will hold its own with the industry loved Rode NT1, and Shure SM7B.

I was totally amazed at how good the mic picks up your voice ...
The sound is outstanding. I was totally amazed at how good the mic picks up your voice and the surroundings. It is VERY sensitive, which in a lot of case that's a good thing. It is built very tough, heavy and balanced weight. Extremely easy to use! Make sure have a good mixer, it deserves to be set correctly by your voice or equipment. The case that it comes in is very cool too. I love the Behringer products, I have many of them, from the mixers, to the eq's to the compressors and amps. This is the 1st mic I have got from them. Typically I get the Shure models or Audio Technica. I am pleased and impressed with the sound.

Sounds beautiful. Bright when I need it to be and ...
My second. The last one was second hand and had been used for years. It started phasing in and out so I ordered this one. Sounds beautiful. Bright when I need it to be and thick where I need it. I use it for rap vocals. Always get a great recording. Of course paired with pop screen.

Almost perfect - with UPDATE!
I already have a high-end large-diaphragm mic (AKG 414) that I've used for years on vocals. But I couldn't resist trying out this Behringer B-2 mic. I liked the idea that it had switchable pickup patterns, a bass roll-off switch and an attenuator switch—and was so inexpensive! My main intended use for this mic was for vocals. I've only had this mic a couple of weeks, however I've recorded several vocal tracks now with it and have noticed a bump somewhere around 8K imparting an unpleasant "blistering" quality to male vocals—almost sounding like IM distortion. The problematic frequency can be attenuated using some EQ post recording, but it seems to be a bit of a hassle to have to do that extra step every time I record a vocal. On the other hand, it does a wonderful job on acoustic guitar. The guitar sound is full and bright—owing a bit to that hyped upper end that proved problematic on vocals. Nevertheless, I've committed to using the B-2 as the main vocal mic on a new album project I'm doing. So far, the vocals are sounding pretty good; but notching out that brightness is absolutely necessary. I would say this mic is an outstanding value due to its versatility—it's a great addition to your mic locker and very usable as long as you're aware of this high-end idiosyncrasy. 5/15/24 - UPDATE (7 months later): I recently finished my project, and this album has now been distributed (both CDs and streaming.) During the CD manufacturing, I finally got a break from the seven months of daily recording & mixing for this project. And as noted above, I used the Behringer B-1 mic exclusively for vocals and acoustic guitar. Here are my thoughts on this mic, now that I have had a bit of a break and some time to reflect on the pros and cons of using this microphone. PROS: In general the vocals sound very good. However, in listening to my finished album, I am still very aware of this mic's distinctive strident quality that so many people have commented about. I haven't quite figured out how to tame it . . . or if it really needs to be tamed. It presents a brightness in the vocals that may actually be desirable depending on the specific voice being recorded. For my vocals on this specific project, I'd attempted to attenuate the brightness using the Smoothe 2 plug-in, but I can still hear it. Again, I'm not sure it's necessarily a "bad" thing; however, this typed upper-end is definitely a characteristic of this mic. Ease of use: Although I have an AKG414 that has served me well for decades, I'd decided to just stick with the B-1 for this particular recording project. And I found myself really liking its utility/durability—I didn't feel like I had to handle it with kid gloves, like I do with the AKG414. I didn't even use a pop filter with this mic, as it didn't seem to register plosives like the AKG414. Polar patterns: Even though I just kept this set on the cardioid pattern for this project, it was nice to know I have options for alternate polar patterns. Price: It's a no-brainer. I could buy ten B-1s for the price of one AKG414. 'Nuff said. CONS: Truly, the only thing that comes to mind is the "hyped brightness" already discussed. I've been trying to find an online EQ profile that I vaguely remember seeing back when I was first researching this mic. Someone had posted an EQ compensation curve that supposedly address this hyped frequency. In conclusion I stand by my 4-star rating. I definitely will be using this mic again in the future but will probably be working a little more-closely with EQ settings to tame its "wild" side! Nevertheless, the B-1 is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

and as soon as I find the best angle and pick up pattern
My idea was to create a whole home recording environment with Behringer in my home studio. This mike is one of the central pieces of the environment, and it picks perfectly anything I want it to pick. Have been trying it to pick all kinds of instruments, as well as vocals, and as soon as I find the best angle and pick up pattern, I am personally impressed by the clarity of the sound rendering.
