Bought this for my husband as an early father's day gift. We just bought some property and a lot of trees need to come down. I knew it wasnt going to work for a Stihl (which we have) but being my husband is an engineer by trade, he could make it work - which he did. We followed the directions that were on Amazon (none came with the sharpener), placed the sharpener on the saw and followed through allowing the saw to run the 3-5 seconds, there were a small amount of sparks (to be expected), took the sharpener off and became highly disappointed that it didn't sharpen the teeth but more rounded them. The rakes were fine but if we had went an additional 3-5 seconds - the chain would have been done for! Do not buy this product!!! Very disappointed and upset that we still have to manually sharpen our saw.

Did not fit my Echo 590 TimberWolf 20 inch chainsaw bar. I had to drill another hole in housing so I could put in a bolt everytime I use it so not as quick to use as advertised. First wet stone chattered with little pressure. Lucky it came with spares.... Still much faster than sharpening with a file

Worked good for me. I had to take the second pin out because my saw didn’t have the hole. This makes the blade less secure when its closed so you have to be conscious of keeping the blade perpendicular to the stone when you press down. Still worked well and wasn’t difficult at all. Sharpened up nicely.

And then it works fine. I have a shindaiwa 18 . There’s holes but they don’t match the sharpener location. I unscrewed the pin assembly on the sharpener and repositioned to match the holes in my bar. I had to replace the screws because the ones that came in the sharpener were way small for the job. Sharpens just great in seconds and ur back to cutting If u can’t make sumpin like that happen where you can snap it shut with the pins holed and the tip in range of the stone you’re gonna dislike it.

Very unsafe, had to hold it in please with hand. Did not fit well and locking mechanism did not work. Stone's wore out or broke after only two uses. Do not waist your money!

I can’t speak for all applications but it did not work on my Stihl chainsaw 18 inch. Once I got it I realized the design was unlikely to work well for what it was intended. It’s a little rickety but the price was pretty low so I’m not complaining too much I should’ve known what I was getting.

It is stupid simple to use and what a fantastic idea of course it doesn't make it rain like brand new but it definitely makes it a whole lot better and your chain will last a lot longer and I love that they give you extra sharpening stones

Exceptionably poor execution of a good idea. Fitment is so loose that the chain (which is the special one you are supposed to use) is destroyed. Don't waste your time, money and high hopes. Whoever designed this should be ashamed, it would have been so simple to do it right. At least returning this item was no problem.
