It's small and seems to be sturdy, though it is made of plastic
I'm a teacher, and I keep this on my work keychain/lanyard so that I have it with me all the time. I specifically wanted the loop on the end so that I could hook it on the keyring. I've had no problem saving and using documents, pdf files, photos, and video clips for my lessons. It works seamlessly with a Mac, Chromebook, and PC. It's small and seems to be sturdy, though it is made of plastic. I really hope it holds up over time, and so far it looks like it will be fine.

Super Convenient and fast
I have become a huge fan of these mini USB drives that essentially have no "case". With the key ring built in it's super convenient to take everywhere on my keys. The flexible cover protects the contacts, even though that's not absolutely necessary. I had another brand before (I don't remember which) that had no cover for the contacts, and used it for two years with no problems. The previous drive had two big problems: attaching it to my keys was a real jerry-rigged mess; and the tiny hole available for a "strap" was part of a thin sleeve the actual drive was glued into. The glue gave up and the memory/contacts part fell out somewhere. The verbatim is so much better I'm happy to have lost the previous one - and the Verbatim is less expensive, and much faster.

Here's how to mod this into a carabiner clip drive...
I have been using a Tuff-Clip for years, but they are no longer made with modern-sized flash chips. Being able to clip this drive around my neck, keychain or name badge has been a valuable convenience for me. Here is how you do this modification.Since this is made by Verbatim, I can be assured the drive will survive two holocausts and a space invasion before dying of natural causes, so I don't see the need to wait on writing a reviewI bought a ADATA S805 Sport 8 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive AS805-8G-CGY (Grey) to have as a replacement for the Tuff-Clip. Buy the smallest capacity drive because the chip will be thrown away (it's likely defective anyway, as was mine). You will take this drive apart. The colored plastic shells on the A-Data drive pry apart inside the key ring area. Carefully pry these apart and you'll hear the gummy adhesive tear away. Be slow and give the adhesive time to release. These two shells form the axle that the USB assembly rotates on. The USB assembly will now be freed from the housing. The USB assembly is composed of a plastic frame, a SIP chip, and a metal shroud crimped around it. Very carefully pry the metal shroud back open, not much, only enough to free it from the frame, which doesn't take much. Hemistats are nice tools for the job. Slide the shroud off and you will clearly see the SIP package glued to the plastic frame. With a knife, slowly pry the SIP from the gooey adhesive. It's the same adhesive that attached the plastic shell. Make sure to not get this SIP confused with the Verbatim one.Take your Verbatim drive, slowly pry the plastic tray backwards to release the glue and extract the chip. Be sure to limit the torsion force placed on the chip so that it doesn't flex. The traces are printed directly on this chip and wrinkling of them would likely destroy the device. So flex the plastic instead, maybe even use a hobby knife to trim away the glue strands.Insert the Verbatim chip into the plastic tray of the A-Data drive. The Gold colored contacts should be exposed. Shape the metal shroud into a perfect rectangle box shape before re-attaching. This is the most difficult step that requires to most coordinated dexterity. I used keys and a clean desk to target applied pressure points to flex the metal into the correct shape. Once it was in shape, slide the metal shroud in the same orientation it was in when you took it off. The remained of the assembly is reverse steps. Attach the plastic covers by correctly positioning the drive assembly, and press hard. For sealing the adhesive, I'd recommend wrapping the drive in terry cloth or suede and compressing it with adjustable-jaw pliers

Rubbish
I bought this drive because I've had great success with Verbatim in the past and I love the form factor. It fits great on a keychain. Unfortunately, the drives are complete rubbish. I ordered one without any previous reviews (mistake). Got the drive and started transferring over 2 iso files. The drive failed in the middle of the second transfer. OS X complained that I had ejected the disk improperly.I thought it was a loose connection so I unplugged and put it back into another usb slot. The drive could be seen but wouldn't mount any partitions. I then put the drive into a Windows box and it had the same problem. The drive showed up in disk manager but no valid partitions. When I tried to reformat, it said the drive was write protected. There is no switch or physical means to put this flash drive into "write protection". After trying multiple things people said to do online, I returned it figuring I had a defective drive.Amazon is amazing and cross-shipped my return. Got the new drive a couple days later. Everything worked great for a day. This one actually let me copy several gigs to it. The next day I plug it into my computer and start copying a lot of smaller files over (backing up camera). It got about 25% through a 3 gig directory of images before it completely broke again. It was exactly the same error. This drive is complete rubbish and I would not buy it unless they address this serious hardware problem.

Very good, not perfect, USB.
Very small and unobtrusive, easy to have on my key chain. I've owned some similar metal hook and typical plastic keychain USBs. This one takes a moment to remove from the keychain to plug in (as apposed to the hook style ones) but the soft rubber cover keeps the contacts in good condition (as opposed to the typical open end USBs). being the thin USB style, at times a computer will not connect, but usually just takes some adjustment. I usually keep this in my pocket on my keychain and have noticed the plastic ring has a crack in it and may not last.

Small and slim
I haven't played with this nifty USB flash drive much but still during my use so far I haven't noticed any major issues. It copies and opens files fairly quick and looks sturdy while plugged in. It is very light so it can easily be carried on the keyring. I particularly liked its locking mechanism. It gives you a feeling that it will withstand rough usage and bumps here and there.I loved the size and design (including the performance so far) that I might buy another one soon.

Good
Has no junk software on it, is nice and small, does not set off metal detectors, durable. Did not give it five stars because the flap that covers the contacts has a tendency to lift up when stored in "rough" locations such as in your pocket, but has not caused any problems. I have not accidentally washed it yet so I can't testify to its water-prof claims but it looks like it would hold up well.

Great - but not without some issues
I bought this item for it's small size and it fits the bill perfectly. Like others, I do have some reservations about the longevity of the little rubber(?) "catch that keeps the lift-up cover closed, but if it's treated with respect I think it will do the job. When I installed the Verbatim security software for it from their website, my Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 dectected it as malware. I contacted Verbatim customer support and Kaspersky, who between them decided that it was a "false positive". Kaspersky said they would resolve this issue at the next definitions update and that appears to have resolved things.

Great concept, poor materials
I got this to keep it on my chain and carry a couple of tools I use on regular basis. The rubber cover is flimsy and after some use will start coming undone and eventually drive will get damaged. I hoped it would more sturdy than that. I cannot comment on the quality of the flash as it performed fine in my mostly read only use case.

Good for short-term use, e.g. transferring small files between computers. Not for long-term storage or high churn.
Pros:- Tough- Slim- Light- Easy to put on a keyring- Decent initial performance and reliability- InexpensiveCons:- After a couple of years of only occasional use, the filesystem (in my case, ext4 for use Linux) became read-only, and several files became corrupted. Apparently this is pretty common with inexpensive USB flash drives, especially if fairly full.
