TL/DR: Best budget-friendly bread maker
I've used this bread machine weekly since May 2023, and am very pleased with it. I wanted a way to make bread that didn't have a ton of extra ingredients in it, but also in a way that I could do consistently, even with a busy schedule. This machine really fits the bill. The bread is very good - light and fluffy, but able to be sliced for sandwiches and toast. The machine is very simple to operate, and once you press "start," you walk away from it until it's done. Pros: - So simple to use. Plug in, add ingredients, press button, boom. Bread. - Recipes in the instruction book work great and taste great. - Comes with a measuring cup for liquid ingredients and a measuring spoon for dry measurements of tsp / tbsp. Cons: - The machine is "loud" when it's kneading. You can definitely hear it across the house. The kneading phase is usually 2 or 3 per bread cycle, and it lasts for anywhere from 5-10 minuets at a go. The "loudness" of the machine is subjective, and it personally doesn't bother me. But if you're looking for something that you'll forget is running, then this isn't it. - Like most bread makers, the kneading / mixing paddle at the bottom gets "stuck" in the loaf as it's baking. So getting the bread out means turning the pan upside down and shaking the loaf loose, which leaves a hole in the last 2 pieces of bread. Really not a huge problem, but worth mentioning. Nice to know: - Since you're not adding any preservatives, keep the finished product in the fridge. We've found a 2lb loaf lasts us about a week before getting moldy. - The loaves are a different size than a typical loaf of bread bought at a store. Store bought bread is usually a longer, smaller loaf, whereas there are bigger and shorter in length. - A finished loaf will usually fit in a gallon-sized ziploc bag, to keep it fresh. I'm still searching for the best solution for this. Helpful tips: - I always sift the flour when I add it to the machine - it's helped keep the finished loaf light and fluffy. - Using bread machine yeast (I got a jar of it at Walmart, but you can find it anywhere) versus the small packets makes it easier to measure out the correct amount for the recipe, because one packet of yeast will make 2.5 loaves. You can't just add a whole packet per recipe. - I use a scale to measure the flour needed for each batch, so I don't add too much flour by compacting it in a measuring cup. My favorite recipe uses 490 grams of flour, and that's way easier to keep consistent then how much I'd get using a measuring cup. Food for thought: With bread going for anywhere from $3.79-$6.19 in the store right now, getting this bread maker is an upfront expense that really pays off. Getting all the ingredients to start at Walmart will run ~$15, and each loaf costs about $1.48 make. The ingredient you'll use the most of is the bread flour. All the others - oil, salt, sugar, yeast - you'll be able to make several batches before needing to replace them.

Great Machine with a GF bread option!
Great machine! Using for GF bread. Don’t use the recipe for GF bread in the user manual. Nothing about the recipe looked right and I found a really good recipe online that I used instead. First use was 10/10 and I made it with a light crust. I am very impressed at how easy the machine is to use for a non baker as myself. I got tired of the terrible yet high priced GF store bought bread that you can only eat toasted so this machine is a game changer! Took 2 hours and 55 minutes for a 2lb GF loaf, it was so soft and tasted amazing. This machine will pay for itself after I’ve made 6 loaves of GF bread. I used a non skid mat under it that I already had after reading some reviews that it moved around a lot during mixing and kneading so that kept it in place the entire time. For the price it’s a great machine so I hope it lasts a long time.

It can make an excellent loaf! Better than most out there these days.
bread machines are all pretty much garbage these days, and I have been using them for decades, including the pricy Japanese Z.... brand, which did not impress me. This Amazon Basics machine is the cheapest I have bought and works almost as good as the last decent machine I bought in the 1990's. Perfect...no, but at least it is possible to get an excellent loaf out of it. Make sure to put it on a grippy surface, or it will walk off the countertop, and keep an eye on it occasionally during operation. I didn't even try to use the chunky ingredients dispenser, that would be tempting fate. The recipe book was obviously never tested, and you need to know bread making to tweak the recipes. For instance, they have you put in enough salt to definitely kill the yeast. I can only vouch for one recipe....sort of. I have repeatable success but recipe and settings are knife edge balance. What works for me at 3500ft elevation and dry air; Settings: Menu=3, Loaf=1.5#, color=light. I use a modified "3. Whole Wheat Bread" 1.5# recipe from the booklet with significant modifications as follows: 2 Tbs Avocado oil (softer texture), 1-1/2tsp salt, 1Tsbp brown sugar, No milk powder, yeast maybe slightly low tsp. Same water 9oz, whole wheat flour 1 cup, White flour 2 cups, I butter the paddle and post to keep that from locking together. I use the hook to gently fish the paddle out with minimal damage to the loaf. I start cutting from the top. Any variation and you are on your own. I might get brave and try the quick batch at some point as this does take about 3.5 hours for the entire machine process, but the results are worth it. A couple months and no mechanical issues. Not quiet but I have had much noisier. Bread pan is actually non-stick, unlike a recent machine by another mid-range brand that ended up being tossed in the garbage.

Love this bread machine. Great value and easy to use
I’m not great at making bread but this helps so much! It’s such a good price and helps me a lot. I do not use the pre sets but I use the dough proof setting weekly. The pre set and bake options and recipes are not my favorite bread but I looked several up online and have had great luck. Overall highly recommend.
