works well for my smartphone and my a6500 mirrorless camera
Gimbals have advanced so much over the years. I can remember when the first mirrorless camera supports were bulky, heavy and didn't have great battery life. This is revolutionizing the gimbal market. It's so compact compared to even devices a couple years old. I use my Sony A6500 without any issues. The heavier payload support means I can put a prime lens on without worrying about it tipping over as much. I mean "as much" because balance is still key. I can't put a telephoto lens which is front heavy unless the tripod screwhole is somewhere right in the middle. At least I'm not limited to the default pancake lens. I use a 30 and 50mm most often. I tested this with my smartphone and it works equally as well. I just wanted something versatile so I don't have to get a different gimbal just to use on a different device. Keep in mind that every time you switch devices, the balance needs to be recalibrated. All 3 axis need to be done which doesn't take too much time but can be a bit annoying. I would tend to just use one camera for the day depending on my upcoming shooting requirements and change to a different camera as a last resort. It's really not that bad, but I don't want to fiddle around with it when in the field. So far it works great. Videos are very stable. Even some up down movement with large steps and running don't present an issue. The battery life exceeded my expectations. The motors definitely seem strong (especially when I accidentally hold on to the camera while moving). I can feel it trying to adjust - which is probably not good for the gimbal. The controls are also straight forward and easy to use. The joints, connectors, fit and finish look really well made. Everything is sleek and smooth. No grit anywhere. No rough surfaces. Paint is consistent throughout. I'm glad they put a lot of attention to detail in the manufacturing. The only criticism I have is the case. It's made out of a high quality styrofoam. I thought it was just disposable packaging until I had a closer look. The material is not what bothers me. It's how it's been blowmolded for the gimbal itself. It's tight fitting which means that it won't move around when you transport it however once you have the gimbal adjusted and balanced to the camera, you can't fit it back in the case. This means you have to reset it back to fit it in the case and rebalance the gimbal all over again before use. The measurements help if you write stuff down but it just seems cumbersome. All that's really needed is some additional slack and space for axis' but the handle can be form fitting for good support. This is a small rant for an otherwise outstanding product. Honestly, I won't be carrying the gimbal in that bulky case anyway. It's small enough to fit in my jacket pocket or strapped to my backpack. The locks help it feel much more secure as it won't wobble around inside my bag when transporting. I actually don't know when I would ever use the case even if it could fit back in after balancing.

AMAZING Product !!
Feiyu G6 Max is the best handheld gimbal so far for Mirrorless camera smartphone and action camera. I love the most is the design. It looks a amazing. Compact lightweight and with sliding quick release plate for camera attachment. Also has long battery life and easy to carry! The reason I buy this gimbal that my friend recommend to me. Also it is perfect for my canon M50 with 20mm len. I did some research before I purchased this gimbal and delivery was fast. I was exciting to do the open box. I spent a little time to set up the balance of my camera and I can’t wait for test out. First when I use it everything is ok but when I use low angle shot then out of balance. Then I called up my friend he has no problem with that . Final I figure out the setting had motor setup..adaption then automatic balance for me then everything perfect. I tested few days and so happy it. This gimbal is AMAZING!! I would highly recommend this gimbal. It is light easy to carry and setup less then a minute. It is best use for VLOG..Professional users or like me use for record memory for my kid! The most important things is balance so well the footages come out so great and overall is better the then other gimbal.

Worth the pain of figuring out the balance! Update review!
I watched many review before I finally settled on this gimbal. Many of the reviews talked about how this gimbal was able to hold up so much weight and how easy to use it was. I would have to agree with that, after it is balanced that. Balancing it was a pain! The Directions that came with the gimbal weren’t much help, but I found a video one YouTube from Feiyutech that did partially help. After balancing it, I powered it on, but it kept on vibrating. That is where I couldn’t find a solution in the directions or the video. After navigating the menus I decided to test changing the motor strength. That fixed the problem and made it work more smoothly. My main issue with this gimbal is that when I tilt/angle my camera down the lock for the quick plate scratches the horizontal bar. The scratch isn’t too noticeable, but I can hear it in my videos. Hello, I have been using this gimbal for a couple of months now and I think its safe to say that I really really like it. The battery life doesn’t last that long for me, I’d say two to three hours max if I use it nonstop. This also works well even when I use my 10-18mm lens with the adapter for my Canon m50. I have noticed sometimes that sometimes the axis knobs do come loose so I do have to rebalance my camera every time I go to use it so that is also a pain. But over all I do recommend it. I am still learning how to use all the features because I don’t really need it for my day to day videos. I haven’t been able to find a way to connect my phone to the handle for monitoring, but I haven’t noticed any balance issues with moving the LCD screen on my camera, so I keep with that for now.

Awful Gimbal. You better DONT!
I purchased this because it was marketed as an ideal option for cellphone filming. First, it has cables for every device you can think of EXCEPT a lightning cable. None of my iPhone lightning to usb C cables work. So no connected features for iPhone users. Next, it’s next to impossible to stabilize a smartphone. All of my shots have random motor fits that ruin audio as well. It’s heavy, which is counter productive when trying to hold your arms steady for a long time. Totally inefficient. The battery life sucks because the motors are always losing it from constantly calibrating. OH! And the smartphone mount only fits uncased cellphones. Because THATS the type of versatility I need. TLDR: Heavy+Unbalanced, missing essential tech/hardware, absurdly expensive

OMG! Been looking for an all in one gimble to be able to use all my devices (Action Cam, Mobile Phone, my Lumix G80 DSLR, Compact Camera) for ages and finally this gimble provides the perfect solution to my problems. My biggest worry was my DSLR which is around 800g and most DSLR gimbles are either too complicated to operate or way too big, but not this one, wow I mean its compact and it has simple to use controls that operate independently of any proprietary applications. This gimble can support 1.2kg of payload. With all DSLR gimbles its quite tricky to balance the DSLR on the gimble but once it was done it worked like a charm. I had to strengthen the motor adaptation on the application via my mobile phone and the DSLR was perfectly balanced and stable. One of the best features of this gimble is splashproof. I took the gimble outside as I wanted to test it out, it was raining a little and I was more worried about my DSLR then the gimble. So I hooked up my Samsung smartphone phone which is water proof and I was well impressed that not only I was taking stable, jitter free videos, but my heard was at ease that my equipment was safe from any water damage. Another impressive feature is that you can lock all the axis when you more around, which is handy if you have expensive equipment, you are sure that it will not move around uncontrollably and hitting random objects that could damage your equipment. It is well made and sturdy and I think it can stand minor impacts especially while going in to the field and doing some recordings. I also used it to connect my action camera SJCAM and it was perfectly stable although the gimble looks like a mammoth compared to the size of the action cam, what I like is that I have the flexibility to use one gimble for all my devices. You can also update the firmware of the gimble to allow it to work with your brand of DSLR or action camera, like Sony, Canon, Panasonic, SJCAM, GoPro, Fujifilm. Taking it to the field my phone run out of battery but I was able to charge my phone using the gimble (all cables provided) which gave me around 6.5 hours of decent recording. The only thing I dislike about the gimble is that it takes a while to figure out how to balance the DSLR, but that’s not an issue with the manufacturer as most DSLR gimbles are tricky to balance, but once done its perfect.
