Totes Auto Open/Close Windproof Compact Large Golf Umbrella with UV and Water Repellant Protection

2021 update: The umbrella is still incredible. No bends, no fraying, no rips. The open close mechanism works smoothly even after 2 years. The handle material is not holding up well though. I store it indoors with normal temperatures, I don't think it has even been left in a hot car once, but for some reason the handle is deteriorating. It is sticky with a very noticeable residue left on the hand afterwards and it has collected lint and dirt that can't be cleaned off. It seems like a bad batch of plastic/rubber to me, and if the umbrella wasn't so great I'd probably replace it just to not have to deal with the handle. Original review: I'm 6'3", I bought this umbrella to replace an older version of this same model by Totes, the one I'm replacing lasted for almost 5 years before I broke one of the rivets folding it up. I've had a few dozen umbrellas and almost every one of them was too small to keep my legs dry while walking in the rain. This Totes umbrella folds down to about the same size as a normal umbrella, but it has a MUCH larger diameter which lets me take full strides while walking without my feet and legs getting wet from the rain and dripping off the edges of the umbrella. It also does a great job keeping my backpack dry as the bag is entirely under the umbrella so rain doesn't drip down the edges of the umbrella onto the bag.

I live in Florida, so umbrellas are for more than just rain. I use my umbrella at Disney, little league games, in the rain, hiking, etc. I use my umbrella all the time. Which is why I wanted to upgrade from a smaller personal size to a slightly larger one. When the sun is beaming down and there is no shade in sight for myself and my family, this umbrella helps shade us when we can’t find cover. In fact, I would say that I use my umbrellas more for sun than rain. The umbrella itself is well made and up to the Totes usual standards. The unlock mechanism is solid and smooth. The material is lightweight and the pattern is nice. I absolutely love the form factor and how it rests nicely in my backpacks side pocket. Overall, it’s a quality choice over the no-name brands, because I would rather spend a little more on a product that has a little more warranty than a knock off. Great for sun or shine and light and small enough to carry everywhere.

My absolute favorite umbrella. It hits so many criteria of mine - * fits in a bag but opens up to a full size umbrella (no tiny compact umbrella that barely covers your head) - photo next to sunglasses for scale of when it’s folded * offers an easy one hand open and close (because you don’t always have your hands free) — see my video of how quick and easy it closes with a push of a button * durable but lightweight * not super expensive. It’s sturdy enough to hold up to the wind. Rarely have we had this flip inside out. We have multiples of these umbrellas now in our house and in our cars and have owned these for years. Only had to replace one after 5 years or so after one of the spokes got detached. Beats all other brand names.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Good umbrella. Medium size. Push button and it goes up. Push button again collapses but does not go down.

Very reliable product, the second time purchasing it. The first one was over 5 years ago. Sturdy and a decent sized umbrella, it easily fits in my tote bag! I mainly use it for sun protection and it works well especially if you are sensitive to the uv rays. It has survived through every northeastern season so far, super happy they still make this umbrella!

I've been using totes umbrellas for years. I partially like the golf size ones. They usually offer a wide variety of colors in the golf size, recently I notice they only have 3 colors in this size. Nonetheless these umbrellas are top tier, they are very strong and last you for years. The golf size is able to cover about 3 persons. I love this brand that's why I keep coming back. More than 10 years with this company.

Feels better quality than the unbranded umbrellas out there. It is weighty. It has a large canopy, larger than the standard telescopic umbrella. The expansion mechanism feels smooth and solid. The strap is thick, the stem feels strong, the ribs are aluminium and tips fibreglass. Time will tell how durable it is

以前にtotesを利用していましたが、紛失。 お気に入りで、金額も安くなくショックでした。それからは忘れるように、たくさんの安い折り畳み傘を利用してきました。 しかし、どれも手入れはするものの長持ちはしませんでした。 一念発起して、購入したこの傘のおかげで今まで感じていたストレスを解消し、かつ雨の日に憂鬱になることも少なくなったような気さえします。 個人的な感情が入ってしまいましたが、 大きさと軽さのバランスもよく、ジャンプ機構もスムースです。所々生地が薄く、ムラがあるように見える点は➖1 大事に使いたいと思います。

The umbrella is large enough to keep me from getting wet from the rain, and the quality is good enough to withstand strong winds, and the automatic opening design is easy to use.

Nice product with nice color combination. I like the opening and closing mechanism which is automatic and make it easy when entering or leaving a covered please in the rain. the size and weight are the only small issue but it is not a problem when you carry it in your backpack.
