UPDATE: I just wanted to add that 2 years and 4 months later it’s still going strong. I don’t have the new model with the LCD display, but the original model. It has also been very good on battery life when using quality name brand Alkaline batteries. While my next Pinpointer will be either a Dr Ötek or actual Garrett Carrot, if starting out on a budget I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this model again. I’m new to metal detecting. I’ve wanted a metal detector for 50 years. I’m on a limited income so I needed to get into detecting on a budget. I was able to pick up a used detector for just $35. After watching many many YouTube videos on metal detecting I realized I needed a Pinpointer. I watched YouTube reviews and read Amazon Reviews and decided on this Generic Chinese Pointer a copy of the Garrett Carrot 🥕 I honestly do not know how to pronounce the name PudiBe, seems to be a silly name. It will either beep or vibrate depending on your selection. The closer you get to a detectable piece of metal the faster the beeps or vibrations are. When it is on there is a small bright white LED that is supposed to be for helping you find items in a dark hole. During the day most people believe this is a battery drainer and kind of useless, it’s not that bright. Unless you are detecting at night this is not very useful feature. It came with the Pinpointer, a starter generic Chinese 9V battery, a coiled springy wrist lanyard, a belt holster & instructions. It’s so easy to use my grandson who just turned 7 figured it out right out of the box. When I’m detecting and he’s with me I use the large detector then he goes in with the pointer to pinpoint the final location. He was very surprised that it detected the metal plates & screws holding 4 levels of my lower spine together. They’re Stainless Steel. I can’t speak for it being waterproof. I haven’t tried it and don’t generally detect near water. From online reviews of most similar pinpointers they tend to leak around the switch and the speaker. Some people found adding some additional silicone sealant around those two areas can help protect it. I also can’t speak for its long term reliability since I’ve only owned it 2 weeks. I will update if there are any issues. I can say that paying $19-26 depending on the sale price you can buy 2 and have a Spare for less than 1/2 price of the general $119-135 of a mainstream manufacturer like Garrett, Fisher, Minelab & others. From my initial experience I would definitely buy this model Pinpointer again.

This pin pointer works great. I only gave 4 stars because the belt loop broke on the belt case within 30 minutes but I have a riveter and fixed it no problem. I was able to find everything my metal detector found with this pin pointed but the small things I was finding seemed to only go about 2” deep. I’m sure bigger items would show deeper. I used it for around 5 hours, but I did turn it off between finds and the battery is still going. I’m yet to see how long the battery will last. I do recommend this and will be getting another if I wear this one out. Can’t bet it for the price.

UPDATE: Positive resolution and very nice product. The return process was finally resolved despite some obstacles out of everyone’s control. The new unit arrived and works extremely well. I’m nothing but happy with it and how well it performs. It has great depth and accuracy. Be aware that it does pick up some EMI from certain main detectors. If it does “act up” move your main detector a little ways away and try again. I had a very positive experience with the basic pinpointer sold by this company. I decided to upgrade to their next level pinpointer based on my expanding needs as a metal detectorists. Unfortunately, the unit I received was possibly defective upon receiving it. The device would turn on normally, but as soon as it was brought near the ground it would signal continuously. The only way to stop the signal would be to turn the unit off and back on again only to have the situation repeat itself. I conducted several tests under many different conditions to determine if there was an external cause of this malfunction. After I was unable to find a cause of the issues, I contacted the seller through Amazon. After one unsuccessful communication, I did end up messaging with a friendly, qualified representative who was willing to help resolve the issue and offered a replacement and I agreed to correct my service review. I responded and sent a short video of the malfunctioning unit. At this point all communication stopped, I wasn’t even able to change my service review with Amazon. However, I should point out that all communication was going through Amazon as an intermediary. I could not reach anyone at the company or Amazon. I believe this was partially due to the pandemic, but also due to Amazon not allowing buyers to contact sellers directly anymore. I’m disappointed that the product was faulty, but I feel that it was an isolated incident based on my experience with my previous purchases from this company. Based on the representative’s willingness and set plan to help, I feel that most of the negative aspects of this transaction fall on Amazon, not the seller. If a resolution happens I would gladly update and revise this review.

I don't write alot of reviews but this thing deserves one! Super happy with this product. Not only did it show up on time. It does everything that it's supposed to and with accuracy. It has cut my recovery time in half or better. Highly recommend this to anyone that's into the metal detecting hobby. UPDATE ..... everything was great til I went out on my 4th adventure with it. Got onto a target worth digging and it would not power on. Mind you I had just used it the previous day with no issues. I figured must be the cheap battery. I brought Duracell replacement with me so I changed it. Still would not power on. Here 3 days later will still not power on no matter what I do. Must simply be a case of "you get what you pay". But what can u really expect at this price? I was willing to take the risk, and it didn't work out

The price is nice, the little light is a nice idea and it seems to work good but it should be louder. I use booth my coil and pin pointer when digging and you have to take off your head phones every time you switch just to hear it. Louder please. It also beeps once every time you turn it on which you can get used to but gets bothersome because by habit you thing the item is there. The spiral cord just throw in trash the idea is good but the clip is so small you can't clip to belt loop or anything and the other end is whimpy loop ring. The holster is good, could be a very good item with improvements
