The unit, the tools and the instructions are very good. The online wire color and location listings for various cars was too. But it has one serious limitation, the range is horrible. When the fob does it's job it works as it should. But at a range of more than twenty feet, it may not work.

Took a little to install but works great. Very nice on a cold Ohio morning.

I have owned 2 of these. The first one quit after a week.I returned it. The 2nd unit will not start the car below 10 degrees. It tries to start the car but it won't stay running. I even programmed it to monitor the tach wire instead of battery voltage. Start the car with the key just fine. I have tried to get through to their phone support line 6 times over the last 2 yrs and have never had the phone answered. They do not give any email contact to resolve problems. So when I really need the thing to work in cold weather,I have to go out and start it with the key.Useless. Good luck getting customer support from these people.

I had this unit installed by my cousin's tech since he offered to do it for free. He commented that DIY was a decent brand. The remote feels a bit flimsy but I've had it for a couple months now and haven't had problems so I guess it just FEELS that way. The range on this isn't very far...sometimes it works from my front door, sometimes it doesn't. It didn't come with the relays for my car so I had to purchase those separately. If you want this to pop your trunk as well, you'll also need to purchase that relay separately. Overall, for the price, it's not bad at all.

My husband gave this to me as a Christmas present our first year in Watertown, NY, Fort Drum area, about 70 miles north of Syracuse. it routinely got below -10 degrees, and this remote starter NEVER failed me once. If it can take that kind of weather, for this price, it was worth it! I have now lost the key fob, though, and am having a hard time finding a replacement. I'm about to buy another unit in the hopes i can reprogram the new included key fob with the system currently on my van.

Item was not as described, it was the same unit under a differnet brand name. The wiring was backwards to the one that I was replacing it with. I would have probably not ordered it had it been properly labeled as a different brand. I did have to do some rewiring in order to get it to work properly. BUT, it does work. The remote operates the starter and door locks. That's why 4 stars.
