worked for my ESPHome modbus project
This unit succeeded where the other "smarter" units with automatic flow-control failed. You can solder bridge the DE/RE pins together and use them with esphome's modbus component and the flow_control_pin setting.

Works great, used for MODBUS RTU with Arduino control
It worked just as advertised, straightforward so long as you know how rs-485 works. Soldered DE and RE pins together to simplify things on the Arduino side.
