Lincoln Electric 2X4C - Auto-Darkening Welding Lens - Shade 9

Works like new after six years of service. It doesn’t make you a better welder, but it sure doesn’t hurt.

Haven’t had any battery issues after a few months of use. Still clear as the day I first used it. Fit perfectly in my “finer pipelines cloud chopped hood” (no flip up). It is a little pricey, but it has a great warranty and holds true to the Lincoln name. It gets thrown around in my truck and hasn’t chipped or cracked. Also, everyone asks how it adjusts to tig. I have the shade 10 and haven’t had any flash.

By far the most clear lens i have ever used. Fits pipeliner hoods with no modifications to the hood. On a fibre metal tiger hood (flip up), you have to open up the slot a little with a flat file, dremel, or burr bit, but you can still put a cover lens on each side after you do. This lens is clearer, has better color, and has more adjustability than any of the speedglas products i have used over the years. Also blows away wens lens ultra cool blue for about $20 less. Also, a word about color, this one has no green, orange, blue, red tint to it...it is real life color as your eyes see and that really seems to enhance the clarity for me.

It works pretty good, hasn't flashed me too many times, and the lens is very clear. I work with high amperage MIG (1/16'' metal core spray transfer, ~340a) and I have to use shade 13, it's more like a 11.5 on my Miller T94i PAPR. If I use it at shade 12 (what I usually use on every other hood) I get a spot in my vision. The shade level around the edges of the lens also tapers off. There's a oval plunked in the box of the lens where it's shaded to the level you have it at, but in the corners and along the sides it'll be a shade 9 or 10. Kind of annoying, especially if you're having to use the edges of your lens to see what you're doing.

Great auto lens for a flip up hood. Like the blue gray color of the weld puddle. Does chewy through battery’s.

Stopped working after 4 months, super clear which is good. Battery life is close to none no matter the battery. While it worked it flickered a lot. It would probably flash me 2x per day and ask for new batteries every couple days until it died and never came back on. It sucks that one of the biggest welding company in the world can't make a reliable auto darkening lens that needs no batteries. Went back to using my ArcOne 240hd. Never lets me down for 100 less than this lens.

New to these auto lens inserts, I bought another brand. It worked well for a time and then stopped taking a charge. This model doesn’t require all that because it has solar panels. Crisp and worth the money. Modern auto helmets are so heavy. Slap this lens in an old school light Huntsman etc. and your neck will thank you. Lincoln is a reputable brand you can trust.

Some of these are hit and miss. I am on my 3rd one. The first 2 started flashing me after a few months. But the 3rd one has been working perfectly for the past 2 years.
