Never Surrender (Shadow Warriors Book 6)

I loved this book! I have found that the characters contained in Lindsay McKenna’s books become very real to me. You can almost feel what they are going through, both the good and the bad. Lindsay’s stories contain so much realism that I always come away feeling more enlightened.This is the continuing story of Gabe (a Navy Seal) and Bay (an 18 Delta Combat Medic) who originally met and fell in love in Lindsay’s prior book "Breaking Point". Due to both of their military commitments, they make the decision to hold off on their wedding until Bay returns from Afghanistan. Unfortunately, life sometime gets in the way. Bay is captured and tortured. Gabe gets reassigned and is involved in her rescue. Bay and Gabe are both put on medical leave while she heals. Bay’s recovery is heartbreaking at first and then slowly with Gabe’s help she starts to heal. They have lots of ups and downs. But as in all good romances there is a happy ending. This is definitely a keeper. I will reread this one again.

This is the second in the series of Gabe and Bay. Do NOT read this book if your stomach is queasy, Lindsay McKenna pulls no punches about what very possibly happens when an American military woman is captured in war. The danger is extreme, the fallout is heartbreaking. Lindsay's portrayal of Bay Thorn is a beautiful portrait of a capable, brave woman in the midst of horrendous circumstances. By the end of the book, you will have a far-better grasp of just what PTSD is and what is done to help it. It is tough, yes. But it is a necessary thing for all of us to read, to fully understand the risks these brave people take, for us. Be sure to read Breaking Point first, since the story is a 2-book series. If you don't read anything else this summer, read these two books. Just don't expect a cotton candy kind of book for either one of them.

This is one very intense romantic suspense book.Well written to the point that I had to force myself to put it down and walk away due to the intense emotions in the scenes. On the other hand I couldn't put the book down. I made myself late to pick up my niece from work because I couldn't stop reading. The book has a great ending and the way the couple works through the trauma of Bay's experiences is wonderful Grab a copy and plan on the book sucking you in deep. It even popped into my dreams. I woke up thinking about the characters and the book.

NEVER SURRENDER, the sequel to BREAKING POINT, is an amazing continuation of the unconditional love that Gabe & Bay have for one another. After Bay is captured by the Taliban and tortured, she finally makes an escape, while Gabe is zeroing in on her whereabouts. The rescue is heart stopping, as well as her recovery. McKenna knows her stuff, having served in the Navy, and spends countless hours researching the details of her novels. This is an emotional roller coaster and a book that’s hard to put down! It deserves a 5 Star Plus!!

Really good book, I would have like to see Gabe not stuff himself in his kill box quite so often, what a guy, who wouldn't like to have him around being the guard dog? What Bay survived nearly ripped my heart out. Am really glad she found hers again. Lindsay McKenna can really tell a story, she's one of the few that can bring a lump to my throat. I do love the war they waged to end up just where they wanted to be....

A great story of a woman who endured something no woman should have to. I admire a woman who is willing to serve in the military regardless of the dangers. The heroine in this story will make you anxious to see how she survived capture and a vicious attack and later escaped. Also a man who was willing to take the risk to love her and help her love again.

It was intense but a but hard to believe that even as a seal that he would have been allowed to go in almost alone to get her....with only one other guy... Also after reading such difficult things that happened to her I would have still loved to see them get married in church with all their military family and maybe her sister to be her maid of honor. I wanted to see so much more if good things for her after all that happened

This was a great story of love and strength and even though parts were hard to read it was good to catch up with many of the characters from her other books

I really enjoyed this book. The author really went in depth to really understand the after effects of a rape victim it was a very different story line and I was so gripped that I could not put the book down I had to find out how they came through this. I would recommend it to anyone . I can't wait for the next book in the shadow warrior series to come out so I can read that one to.

Both these books were very different so you get a 'broad spectrum' reading experience. This book is harrowing and extremely moving, going through the healing process thoroughly.
