Simple, sturdy, and effective oven tool
The hardest part of using this is seeing through my oven door which needs to be cleaned, but even now, the numbers and lines are bold enough to read through a little oven window grime. The range of temperatures is ideal and it hooks over the top oven rack to hang at the right angle. I accidentally knocked it off checking on my dessert last night but then it just lands on its foot and stays upright.

Big read. Great thermometer. Just what I needed.
Do you want to actually SEE the dial? This will allow you to!

Useful Oven Add-On for Our Situation
"Winco 3-Inch Dial Oven Thermometer with Hook and Panel Base" We moved into a new apartment and the roasted veggies that we love to eat disappeared. In their place was some sort of mushy mess. I bought this gadget to see what was up. Turns out the oven in this apartment kinda sucks. Set the temp at 400. Preheat buzzer sounds 10 minutes later. Winco tells me temp is 225 🤔. Winco tells me it takes 25 minutes to reach max. temp of 385. So-I have two problems. I now know to allow 25 minutes (sigh) for preheating and to set the temp higher than what is desired. The device is big so is easy to read. Black (below 350) or red numbers (350 and up) on a white background. To read it without opening the oven, I use a combo of the oven light with a high intensity flashlight. I hang it from the wire rack. I’d love to stand it up but it falls over it there is any movement of the shelf or baking pans. Roasted veggies are now delightfully carmelized and baked goods are rising as expected.

Great little thermometer for the money
I bought this for my Holland grille which does not have a built-in thermometer. It replaced a smaller oven thermometer that I used for years, but which got so dirty I couldn't read it. This one is larger and very easy to read. WHen compared to another thermometer, it seems to be accurate. That is, they both read the same temperature.

Not accurate... math skills required.
It was showing 100 degrees hotter than my dial was set to. I got out my laser temperature gun and shot the back of the oven wall. It showed the actual temp to be only 3 degrees off of my oven dial. So it works pretty good and is easy to see due to the large dial. All you gotta do is subtract 97 degrees from the gauge and you're all set.

Works well
This oven thermometer has been a great help for my bread baking. When the outside temps or kitchen temps aren't conducive for bread proofing, I use this thermometer to get my toaster oven to stay at an ideal proofing temp.

Inaccurate, bad design
First and foremost, this thermometer was wildly inaccurate. I tested it against a similar $5 oven thermometer by setting the oven to 375 and placing some sugar in a pan. The other thermometer registered a bit under 375 (more like 365) and this one registered 400! After 15 minutes the sugar hadn’t browned/caramelized, meaning that my oven wasn’t truly at 375, so the other thermometer was right and this one was waaaaay off. In addition, the hook to hang this from a rack needed to be bent closed a bit more because it would easily fall off at first. And finally, a personal pet peeve, the other thermometer has 350 at the top of the thermometer, which is vastly preferable. Most things are baked at 350, so it’s easier to tell at a glance of the temp is right by checking if the hand is pointing straight up, instead of having to peer at small numbers and figure out where the 350 is.

Good Oven thermometer
Really good because of its larger size. I wanted a larger one so I can read the numbers more easily, and I also like how the numbers become red at the 350 mark so a quick glance can show where the oven temp is. My 28 year old oven seems to click off before it reaches a set temperature, so I really needed a good thermometer to monitor actual temperature. It doesn't sit so well on the rack, but hangs easily so that's how I'll leave it. Seems accurate so far.

Well made, works well.

Esta bien y se ve de buena calidad. Lo malo es que los números grandes están en Farenheit y mis recetas en celsius. Así que tengo que hacer la conversión. Me hubiera encantado en celsius.
