Computer Keyboarding for Beginners Review: Straight foward - This is pretty straight forward, I do wish it wasn't so cheap feeling. It's all in black and white. I honestly grabbed this for a friend of mine whose child has autism and likes looking at letters and patterns..however he did not enjoy this book lol. But for typing it seems straight forward, just a littttttle boring for young kids. Review: Simple and easy - This is a great book for anyone who is looking to learn how to type on a keyboard. its easy to follow and to the point, and it doesn't have 50 pages to read before you get started. The book gets right to the point and is very simple for anyone of any age & education level to follow. It teaches the key board and finger positions and has great practice techniques. After you learn finger placement and the keyboard the rest is practice and repetition. Highly recommend for home study and teaching. You won't do better in a in-person class...I've done both.

Wonderful for my 13 year old!
Bought this for my 13 year old son to learn the proper finger positioning for typing-and within just about a week or 2, he learned! Now he’s building up his timing and he’s going fabulously-without having taken a typing class!

Purchased for a friend
My friend had a hard time learning to type, she tried programs online and couldn't seem to get the hang of it so I purchased this book, to try and help her a little bit. It did the trick she seems very content with the book.

A little lacking
I bought this book during the coronavirus pandemic to let my students have a way to practice typing without electronics. While it does have very basic typing activities and a small example keyboard, there is no to scale keyboard or one even close that they could use to practice.

Best typing method off-line
Bought this to use with the homeschool kiddos! Today’s kids are not learning proper positions on the keyboard and it’s unfortunate! I love that this method of teaching is 100 % independent of needing to be on line. You just open any word doc and get started. It’s simple. It’s direct. I recommend it!

I bought this to teach my 9 and 11 year old to properly type on the keyboard. It is excellent. The wording and mannerism is perfect for older kids like this, rather than just adults. The lessons are appropriate and achievable for them and the format is working very well. Read the beginning as it had tips and instructions for a parent or teacher that I found very useful such as go over each lesson with the student, praise, duration of practice, etc. It also comes with a progress sheet they can use to feel they are achieving AND a certificate at the end for them to have! Lots of positive teaching methodology in this book. I purchased another learn to use the keyboard book and that was more adult oriented. Both are covering the same ground but for the age group I am teaching this is perfect and I highly recommend it. Also the top binding is GREAT for using in a photocopier to print sheets. A side bound book would have not copied as easily. There was a previous review I read that didn't like the top binding but for making copies for multiple students and to keep the book for the teacher top binding is best.

This is an excellent resource for teaching the basics of keyboarding. The illustrations help students understand the proper placement of their fingers on the keys, as well as help them to understand the finger/key connection. Truly a great asset when teaching and developing a curriculm for true beginners.
