Great water heater
This heater was easy to install. The hardest part was running the new wiring or power the unit. It states 1/2” outlets so make sure that you have the correct reducer as most hot water heater lines are 3/4”. I had those and also added in valves for both hot and colder water to easily flush out the system. The size unit I got is fine for my master bath, kitchen water needs and washing machine. We recently had teens and low 20’s in Texas and the water heater was able to still perform at those temps which was a good test due to how much it can raise the water temperature up when it’s that cold.Make sure to know that this isn’t an instant hot water heater as some people think but will heat the water on demand. I don’t have a problem taking a shower after my wife and worrying if I will run out of hot water as it will continue to make it as long as the hot water is flowing!

They do not function properly for long.
I purchased 6 Black & Decker Tankless Hot Water Heaters for my newly built rentals and I’ve had issues with 5 of the 6. B&D only offers a 2 year warranty which is pathetic. There is obviously construction and manufacturing issues with these units! As a property manager I say stay away from These Black & Decker Tankless units. My purchases included 18 KW & 24 KW units. There Customer Service Department will only assist if they are less than 2 years old and you have the original receipt. This is bad business in my opinion! They stop heating properly, the computer boards go out VERY easily, they leak, they emit a burning smell, they overheat.FYI: They were ALL installed by a licensed plumber & a Licensed electrician whom both have over 20+ years experience. So installation is not the problem as they were new builds and installed exactly as B&D required.

Very happy with this tankless hot water heater.
I called tech support in my original research to find the unit that best suited my needs—a booster for the kitchen sink hot water. At first I called Atmor’s toll free number and found out their unit was not appropriate. Then I called the (different) Black and Decker 800 number and ended up talking with the same exact (as Atmor) tech support lady. She said Atmor was owned by B & D and apologized for not suggesting this B/D unit the first time I talked with her when she told me the particular Atmor unit I was considering could not be used as a booster.I did the installation myself and I’m not a plumber or electrician by trade but I am a mechanic with lots of home remodel experience. The toughest part was routing the #10 gauge Romex solid wire power cable. I’m glad it wasn’t the heavier 8 gauge wire that some units require. That would be really hard to manipulate in tight places like under a sink. As you can see from the picture, I had to temporarily remove the disposal for ease of access to install the heater under the sink. This BD model is larger than some and I was unable to give it all the recommended side clearance (6”) and bottom clearance (12”) the manual suggested. It was difficult getting the power cable through the back of the heater case, connected to the power block inside and under the strain relief clamp. Took me probably half an hour just to get that right.Plumbing was quick and easy with 1/2” braided SS faucet hoses.Instructions were clear and adequately detailed for someone who has a bit of experience with home electric work. Plumbing is just a matter of getting the correct length hoses (I needed only one hose since the original hot water hose was perfect length) and being careful not to overtighten. The rubber washers on the hoses don’t need much torque for a waterproof seal. The unit operates as advertised and my wife is thrilled to have instant hot water at the sink now. So if it still works 10 yrs. from now, I will be a huge fan of this unit. Time will tell.

Ok, but has a smell
Hot water works good. Installed last week after electricians put in the required wiring (I gave them the black decker pdf) but keep getting burning plastic smell. Don't see anything wrong and it's not tripping breakers. Electrician said they ran the wire exactly as prescribed in the instruction manual. Maybe it's just a break in period. Our water is pretty cold southwest Missouri this winter, and with the shower running, the temp dips when the dishwasher or sink is running hot water. I installed a 10+ gpm prefilter to eliminate any limescale build up. My water is pretty low in tds anyways, but this will help even more.

Hot water in the shop
This unit has been in service for under a week, but so far it does what the brochure says it will do. It was packaged by the factory in custom bubble wrap...packed to survive shipping...and it did. This water heater is installed under a shop sink. I have set the temperature setting to max - 122 F and I adjust the water temperature by metering in cold water. I did lots of research before ordering this unit. Found a really nice table (chart) on line that identifies flow rate, temperature rise, and heater size....so I was confident that this unit would meet my expectations (and it did). This is a 240 volt unit and it draws 29 amps at full load...so I had to add a circuit to supply power...but I expected to do that...so no disappointment there. (I wanted 240 volts on that side of the shop anyway). The freeze protection for the water heater is a heat lamp that is under the sink but not directed on the water heater. I am looking forward to having hot water in the shop.Another comment...The water heater is working fine and I enjoy the hot water in the shop...should have done this years ago. I had a question about the water heater and called the contact number in the user manual, and I was pleasantly surprised when a human answered the phone and connected me immediately to another human who is knowledgeable about the heater circuitry and easily answered my question. So, they also get 5 stars from me for customer service.Another comment...Seven (7) months after installation and the water heater continues to work flawlessly...I really enjoy hot water in the shop for hand washing, parts washing, paint brush washing, etc.

Buen funcionamiento
Si me gustó el funcionamiento, solo es importante saber que se debe hacer una instalación eléctrica muy especializadas con tierra física, con 4 pastillas de material e instalación fueron como 5 mil pesos
