So far have been using the 400 grait belt for sharpening knives and two machetes. Very pleased with the thickness and durability of the belts. Don't expect silicon carbide abrasives to last for very long time but so far this belt still takes off metal iin hurry and leaves a very sharp edge. I have profiled a 18 inch machete, and performed several sharpenings on another. Based on experience with using silicon carbide paper for sharpening suspect that the belt will just gradually become slower and behave more like a fiiner grit.

sharpened at least 30 kitchen and filet knives using a 1x30 belt sander and the assortment kit. belts performed as expected with zero issues, they tracked straight with no fraying and worked the edge to very little bur. first time using a belt sander for knives and they work for me.
