These storage systems are very sturdy and very solidy. Please note: the plywood (you have to buy) sits on top of about 3 inches of bar, so you lose about 3 inches of vertical - see my photos - I installed these right over my garage doors, so it sort of mattered. In one picture you can see another system - that is not sturdy - but also works, as compared to these. I installed mine not connected to each other, so they do not have to be side by side.They are no easier or harder to install than others. My builder decided to put the stringers at just random distances, so mine was a mess to find all the studs - you will definitely want a good stud finder system. None of mine were more than24 inches, which I believe is code in all states, and so these work just fine with 24 inch and smaller, random distances.

Just finished installing my third one in my garage, I am going to get my garage back!Easy install, very sturdy, and turns a bunch of wasted space into overhead storage, freeing up valuable floor space for.... a vehicle!The box is quite heavy, but the install is one piece at a time, so pay no attention to complaints about heavy weight, they must be trying to pre-assemble large sections as no one piece weighs more than a pound or so (excep the plywood shelving). Kind of like working with a large erector set. Read instructions and watch a YouTube video or two for tips and tricks that help (leave everything a little loose for adjusting, and tighten it all down after assembly is complete). Perfect for Halloween and Christmas decorations that you only need once a year.

Buying this item, (the frame without the "decking") was an awesome idea. Much cheaper. For decking I chose a 4x8 sheet of OSB instead of regular plywood, only cost me $14 at Lowes. Much cheaper than buying the rack with the mesh / wire decking included.It was a real b**ch to install as a 1 man job. I'm in shape and handy, have an impact driver, a ladder, and all the necessary tools, and it still took me over two hours and I was sore AF the next day from doing so much work over my head. That said, it's an extremely sturdy rack. Happy with my purchase.

I've always wanted a set of these racks to make the most of the storage space in my garage. The racks are fairly easy to put together. The reason I gave it 4 stars for ease of install is no fault of the rack, it's just not that easy to install as you have to install brackets on the ceiling (unless your garage ceiling is unfinished).If your garage ceiling is finished, I would highly recommend saving yourself some headache and going to your local hardware store (or buying on Amazon) a stud finder. They are just a few dollars but will save you a ton of hassle and miss-drilled holes.Very happy with the racks, they look great and hold everything I was hoping they would. I plan on getting another rack in the future.

It was delivered a week early which was a nice surprise. The install went great. The instructions are good and they even have an installation video. It’s a lot sturdier than I expected. It comes as two 4x4 units with all the hardware for each. I mounted them about a half foot apart to get a little extra storage. The only issue I ran into is that the instructions say to use a bolt with a wing nut to mount the center support but those weren’t provided. So I had to drill the holes a little bigger to use the bolt/nut that is provided

I'm not mechanically inclined BUT I was able to put this up by myself except for sliding the wood flooring into place. I think I used 5/8" wood instead of the recommended 3/8" for the flooring. Mounting location does require some thought before putting the whole thing up. Test hang the vertical brackets to make sure ALL of them clear the garage door, when it's open. Try to hang all vertical brackets in the center of the horizontal ones mounted to the ceiling. Wifey says I need to order a second one! It should go up easier and quicker with my key learnings from the first one!update: added a second one within six months of the first. Both are still functioning great no issues whatsoever.

Ive had to put this thing almost completely together only to take it apart 3 times in order to move the ceiling mounts. The instructions are very unclear and the measurements don't make any sense. I've been better off figuring this out with our the instructions. I've put together a couple of Safe Racks brand versions of these and the instructions where much clearer and was able to get both of them up first try without any headaches.

These racks are great! I installed them myself. Installed the first one a few months back, and installed the second one just now, just waiting for the paint to dry up. I painted the wood white to make it look “invisible”. I like that you can use wood as it makes it easy to push or pull stuff in/out. Easy to install, sturdy, and great price! If I move, I am bringing these with me!
