MANGROOMER Ultimate Pro Body Groomer and Trimmer with Power Burst

Purchased April 2014 Everything was great right out of the box. Trimmer worked as advertised, never needed the turbo boost. I was able to cut through my thinning hair on my head and everywhere else without issue. Powered up and was ready to go. Flash forward to December 2014 The unit only has the dull hum of a NiCd battery that is barely charged. Even on the turbo boost it still has 1/4 of the speed as when it was new. At this point it does more to rip the hair from my body than it does to actually trim it. I cannot use the "shaver side" with the side trimmers as I can feel it pull each hair from my skin. Instead the only was it is useable is by using the adjustable trimmer side with the blade guard off and on turbo boost and then it still pulls the hairs out instead of trimming. Product should at least get to 1 year before it becomes unusable. I will be recycling this and never purchasing their garbage again.

You may read my prior notes. However, I noticed others had great luck contacting the manufacturer and getting a satisfactory resolution. Even though I was beyond the warranty period, I contacted them. Their response was overwhelming. I provided my purchase information and pictures of the product, and they are sending me a new unit. We hope this will make up for this inconvenience and do not worry about sending back the original unit, due that we do not want you to incur any further costs. Also, we would greatly appreciate if you could remove or update your Amazon review since the current 2 star review greatly hurts our new products appearance to other customers. Your satisfaction is our top priority. " Their immediate response and attitude implies that they do believe in their product, and I simply got a defect. For their response and offer to replace it immediately, I have to give them benefit of the doubt. I am going to raise my score to a 5. If I find problems later down the road, I will update my review. 12:46 PM 4/4/2014 I made this purchase Dec 4th, 2013. I have regretted it since January 2014. I put a lot of effort into making this selection. I wanted a quality product that I could rely on. I made the wrong decision, so you can benefit from my comments. First, it will not hold a charge for more than 3 days. Then, it's pulling the hair out, rather than cutting. If it's not fully charged, keep it away from your tenders. The design seems so practical. But no matter how great the initial design is, if you under power it, you are never going to be happy. The battery is totally unreliable. I no longer trust it 24 hours after charging. I hate to trash it; because, it was expensive and I like the design. I also loved the idea that I could take it into the shower. If you buy it, try and get the extra warranty. That way you can replace it after 3 or 4 months, when the battery is toasted. 12:52 PM 4/4/2014 I highly recommend trying this product. If you have a problem with it, they are going to make it right, regardless of a 60 or 90 day warranty. Contact the company by email and explain your situation. They did a great service to me and I get another chance to have Mangroomer, which was my first choice after a lot of research.

It shaves ma body! Ok really though, it does the job in a 4/5 star way. The top head gets nice and close, but works best if you keep the cleaning brush nearby to clear out the hair channels. The bottom, adjustable length head, is where the magic is. Need your armpit hair trimmed? Put it at 2 or 3 and trim away. Need the downstairs trimmed for the optical inch? Put it at 1 and get rid of the long hairs. Switch to the top head if its a 1st date or anniversary. Don't switch to the top head if it's just weekly maintenance. I've never used the burst power button. I often wonder who needs that button though. Battery life is always good even after a year. If I can't remember when I last charged it I can still get through a shave just fine. I do try to avoid absolutely killing the battery though. The top head will snag on hairs sometimes, and that hurts. It comes with the territory. The charging base is meh, it takes that extra second to make sure you put the shaver in just right. I don't know if I'd buy it again, but I don't have any regrets about choosing it.
