Nooelec Lana Barebones - Ultra Low-Noise Amplifier (LNA) Module for RF & Software Defined Radio (SDR). Wideband and Linear 20MHz-4000MHz Frequency Capability with Bias Tee & USB Power Options

Wasn't sure if this would work because I have read some negative reviews but decided to give it a chance. Wow this does an excellent job on the APT and LRPT weather satellites. Also I tried it on the Acars frequencies and it does a good job. I haven't tried it on the UHF bands yet, but I highly recommend this.

Low noise figure, easy to power via Bias-T. No IP3+ figures have ever been published which leads me to believe it's not that great. Always run some kind of bandpass or other filter in front of this, especially in a busy urban environment that most of us live in. FM broadcast will easily wipe this out. If you're using it with an RTLSDR, set the master gain on the SDR way lower than you would it running bareback. Somewhere in the 20dB level is great in my location. Again, running this LNA with no prefiltering from a wideband antenna WILL cause overload.

I use mine for public safety scanning and it's been running 24/7/365 for nearly 3 years without any issues.

This is hooked up inline with an old home attic television antenna. From there, the LNA output feeds into a plain old cable splitter, one splitter output to a television, and one splitter output to my SDR on laptop. The Noolec significantly improves signals on both SDR and for regular television viewing. I did an OTA rescan, and pulled in several new TV stations I otherwise could not receive.

I got this to put up on a tower with a discone antenna to help with reception due to being in a bowl. This improved my reception dramatically without raising the noise floor hardly at all. I have it at the antenna and feed it with the RSP2 bias-t and it works just fine. Well worth the investment for SDR use.

Works well in a 400 MHz radiosonde receiver application. Able to power it using a bias tee and get good performance.

Used with SDRPlay RSPDx....lights up but does absolutely nothing to noise floor or signal from 1M to 20MHz...disappointed! Matter of fact reception goes up without it! (And yes...it's hooked up correctly...)

Questo LNA è la versione senza case dell'articolo ASIN: B07XNLJ9X2. Appena installato l'articolo nonostante l'antenna che non sia delle migliori, sono riuscito a ricevere segnali che prima non erano minimamente mostrati, anche cose vicine ai 27MHz con l'antenna originale dell'SDR che sarà al massimo 60-80cm, non la ho mai misurata. Ovviamente con una chiavetta basata su RTL2832U è necessario un Notch per le frequenze della radio FM (88-108) per via di rumore e vari problemi che se no si vanno a generare sulle frequenze sotto a 80MHz. Purtroppo non posso confrontarlo con prodotti della concorrenza perché possiedo solo questo ma per ora, sembra un OTTIMO articolo. Già solo per il fatto che la sezione di amplificazione è chiusa dentro un piccolo shield RF. Purtroppo arriva senza adattatori SMA ma costano pochissimo.

Utilisation: pré-ampli antenne suivi de10 m de cable coaxial. Résultat conforme a mon attente: ampli conforme aux spécifications. A savoir: tel que livre l'alimentation a lieu par le coaxial de sortie. La protection contre les décharges électrostatiques est un avantage certain, mais il reste recommande de prendre les mesures de précautions usuelles.

After my original RTL-SDR LNA broke, I needed a new LNA a.s.a.p. Firstly I ordered the SAWBird NOAA but that LNA did nothing but increase the general noise floor and didn't increase NOAA-reception. I then placed this LNA instead, powered over Bias T, and I actually think it might perform even better than the RTL-SDR LNA. I'm actually thinking of buying a 2nd Nooelec Lana because even for ADS-B the reception is marvellous with an off-tune antenna.

En las recepciones de los Noaa he conseguido recibir la señal ya a los 7º y comenzar a grabar a los 10º, como dijo otro usuario es muy importante experimentar con tu SDR, en mi caso el SDRpPlay me costo ajustar correctamente la ganancia de RF, con sólo 3 y 4 clicks es suficiente porque al principio saturaba tanto que recibia menos señal con el LNA instalado que con el quitado, algo estaba haciendo algo mal. Por lo tanto para mi cometido que es satelites meteorologicos estoy satisfecho. Gracias!
