Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter

This USB-C digital AV multiport adapter from Apple is the most reliable one out there in market. It is lightweight and has three ports; 1 USB C , 1 HDMI and 1 Standard USB port. I have used other adaptors earlier but this one turned out to be most reliable one . It instantly connects the display and doesn't flickers or needs to be reconnected. The adaptor itself does not overheats(which is a really plus point if you compare the other third party adaptors, they might overheat after some time , specially when connecting additional display) . The USB C port in the dongle can be used for charging as well and charges the laptop at exactly same rate as it would when you charge it normally. The Standard USB C port can be used to charge the iPhone , or connect external accessories like keyboard , mouse or a flash drive. The size of the cable is very small and you might want to look for some other options , if you need a longer cable dongle for some reason. Also , it seems a bit pricey at the cost of reliability. Overall a good , reliable dongle for MACBOOK to connect external monitor , charge iPhone , charge laptop at the same time via single USB C port.

I had a similar Apple device with a Lightning connector for mirroring my IPhone 12 Mini onto my LG TV. More recently I got an IPhone 15 Pro Max, which uses USB-C, and could not find any USB-C to Lightning adapter that was claimed to work with that device. So I ordered this USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter, and (like the other one) it worked first time! As well the old one for Lightning, it allows for charging the phone via USB-C while mirroring the screen onto the TV. My only minor beef is that the documentation is rather minimal. For example, the new adapter has an extra port on the TV side that the old one didn’t have, and it’s not clear to me whether it’s for input or output; haven’t experimented with that yet. ADDENDUM: After a couple of months I started having problems with the TV screen going black intermittently (though the iPhone was still charging OK). After doing some internet research, I figured the problem might be the USB-C extension cable that I was using between the adapter and the iPhone. So I obtained a higher-bandwidth cable (ConnBull Thunderbolt 4 USB-C), and everything has been working fine.

I’m so glad that I purchased this multiport adapter. I just bought a second monitor on Amazon but it hasn’t come in yet. I decided to try it with my tv and MacBook with a HDMI wire, and as you can see from the photo it worked like a charm. Can’t wait to get my second monitor so I can work more efficiently. The only downside is that I did first tried it with my iPad and MacBook but it didn’t work. The USB-C adapter port acted more like a charging port than a connector tool. When I attached my iPad to my computer all it did was charge my laptop. So I’m not sure what’s the purpose of it, but I may possibly do more research and see. Other than that it works well.

I had tried a generic random brand adapter to connect my MacBook Air to a monitor, and it would constantly overheat causing the connection to be lost. I finally found this Apple adapter and it fixed everything. It has the USB-C port that I use to charge my laptop while using, HDMI port that I am using to connect the monitor, and a regular USB port that I use for my wireless mouse. All three work seamlessly together with no glitches or overheating. The device itself is warm to the touch, but no where near the heat that the generic device would generate. So happy for this to solve the connectivity issues, Apple products always deliver quality.

I got this renewed item on time, in its original package. It works well, as a brand new product, according to what it is supposed to do: efficient, reliable solution to connect an HDMI external monitor and a wireless mouse (trough a Bluetooth transmitter with an USB-A connector) to one of the USB-C connectors of my MacBook Air M2 2023. Good Apple quality, but for a higher price than the market’s average -as expected, too.

Works as designed, never had a problem with it

Tried a much cheaper alternative (non-Apple brand) that did not work. This one works for what I bought it to do for my IPad pro, 12.9, 5th generation, Model A2379. I can hook up a WD My Passport 2T drive, watch a 6.5G movie directly from the drive through VLC, and display on a larger screen (I tried RCA 32 inch TV) via HDMI. And the IPad continued to charge while watching the movie using the IPad Apple charging wall block that came with the IPad and the stock USB-C cable. IPad prompted me to allow the HDMI mirroring when I made the connection. Display as well as sound passed through to the TV with no issues. The larger display mirrored the IPad Pro. Also Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Apple TV video and sound displayed on the TV without issues. Can't speak for the reliability yet, but everything worked as expected. I'll update if adapter fails prematurely but right now good product. Expensive! But I think its the only thing that will work on my Ipad Pro after researching practically every similar product on Amazon.

O produto é excelente, original e de alta qualidade. A entrega que foi horrível, não recomendo, pois a BRASPRESS e a Global Distribuidora cobraram um frete acima da média e levaram o triplo da média de dias para entregar. Tenho certeza que se fosse entregue via Correios não haveria desgaste e eu estaria mais satisfeito.

For me the Apple adaptor works the best using a M1 Mac Mini Asus 1080 HD 60 Hertz monitor with a LG 42 inch 4K 60 Herz TV as extended Monitor on the Thunderbolt port, I tried another high price, but less than Apple adaptor and it seemed to work well, but problems did occur, the 4K TV screen would flash on and off at 4K and have random intermittent audio problem, to stop it I would have to drop the TV to 1080 and match the resolution of the Asus monitor which is 1080 max and the audio problem stopped also, the other adaptor most likely works properly with a windows machine, I cant verify that but it was listed Mac compatible, if your running a modern Mac, drop the money and get the Apple adaptor, I don't dispute it could be a walled garden thing, but then again I cant really prove it unless I crack the thing open, the CPU and GPU in the M1's could be problematic on other adaptors, its 18% off right now at Amazon, so the hit is not as bad, bottom line is my Mac Mini M1 works as it should with the Apple adaptor/ dongle or what ever you want to call it, and I do agree its over priced.
