Quite expensive

Absolutely love this olive oil from Portugal. First time I had it, I had picked it up In Lisbon airport. I was going to order from the company but the shipping was more than the oil. I was thrilled when I found this brand on Amazon.

Spend a holiday in Portugal, and you will be craving their produce, and of course, their olive oils. This one fills the void I feel when I need Portuguese olive oil to enhance my Portuguese recipes. Impossible to replicate their produce, but if I may just have a whiff of the olive oil that will attempt to elevate my inferior produce to their level, I am IN! I gift this olive oil to family and friends, and they love it!

Terrible tasted like motor oil , rancid . What a let down was vote led #1 by some big wigs from some type of Italian + American olive oil association. Miserable tasting. The problem lies in that I don’t know if the actual oil is terrible or if the oil is rancid and I don’t want to buy another bottle again to find out I can buy a bottle for Murray’s in New York City, but then I have to pay almost 30 dollars in shipping and if I have to return it 30 dollars to return it -is not worth it. It seems like all olive oil tastes bitter as heck now, not the olive oil I grew up eating or tasting while being abroad. I don’t think that the pallets of people has changed so much in 30 years that now something so incredibly bitter is now the norm. I just think we are buying not out of ignorance but rather by being duped either poor quality oil made from inferior olives or buying oil that is the 3rd or 4th press not the first , improperly mixed oil that is to say many oils are blended from olive trees all over the med, certainly they all can’t be at their prime all at the same time but they are pressed and mixed in anyway , or just old rancid oil .

Though this bottle is now empty and I have moved on to another brand of another nation, this was very good while it lasted. I don't have the best relations with Portugal, and as a result of concessions for a resolution to political turmoil, I had to give this up. Maybe one day in the future I will be allowed to use Portuguese products again, I hope.
