The Caldecott Medal "shall be awarded to the artist of the most distinguished American Picture Book for Children published in the United States during the preceding year. The award shall go to the artist, who must be a citizen or resident of the United States, whether or not he or she is the author of the text." The runner-up of the Caldecott Award is called the 'Caldecott Honor Award.' So right away we know the pictures and the story are superior to most other children's books. And I can attest to the fact that this is one of the best I've seen for babies and toddlers. I know that this book is geared towards the preschool to first grade group but the pictures and text are very elementary so I imagine even little ones can identify with this story. I don't care if my new granddaughter will only be two days old when I see her~~I plan to read this precious book to her. Trixie is a baby who is not yet talking--she appears to be barely walking. She goes to the laundromat with her daddy (in New York City) and leaves behind her beloved stuffed bunny~~Knuffle Bunny! The distraught child can't verbalize why she is so upset, therefore she cries and uses body language to try to convey her feelings to her dad. This is a book that will be read and re-read to your baby. Plus, it has a happy ending so children will love it as will their parents (and grandparents), who will love reading it to their little ones! Review: Knuffle Bunny Is THE BEST!! - Have you really not read Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems yet? If you have not read this book, get ready to read and then reread it again and again! Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems is one of the best books ever! One reason is because it is funny! It is funny when the girl in the story does not know how to say her bunny is missing she says lots of silly things to make her Daddy understand the bunny is missing. Another reason it’s a great book is because it has an exciting ending. It has an exciting ending because the girl finally says her first word at the end of the story. Also, the pictures are cool. The pictures are cool because they mix photos, illustrations, and speech bubbles. I think Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems is one of the best books ever! You should read it because it is so so funny. I hope you get it from the library or buy it now. You will be glad you did!

Funny, heartwarming, and a great way to connect with text!
I have the trilogy and read the books to my second grade class. Mo Willems always writes hilarious books that make kids giggle, but this set includes big heart that even big kids can relate too! I HIGHLY recommend this trilogy as a staple for all teachers! Perfect for teaching about small moments, story elements, author's craft, and compare and contrast! My class loved the part where Trixie goes boneless and has to be carried back home like a football.

Probably This Mom's Favorite
We've been reading KNUFFLE BUNNY, and Mo Willems follow-up bunny stories, for so long, that Trixie is practically a member of our family. Yet, each time, this mommy still gets choked up by the sweet and touching tale of a little girl, a lost bunny and an epic communication failure. The mixed media illustrations are evocative and charming and the story is, and deserves to be, a classic childhood tale that I have no doubt my now six-year-old will someday be reading to his children. We are huge fans of all Mo Willems work-- Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! was the first story my son ever read on his own and he's currently working his way through the We Are in a Book! (An Elephant and Piggie Book) series, which is absolutely perfect for early readers--but KNUFFLE BUNNY has a special place in both my, and my son's heart, as we both have/had special bedtime lovies that offer great comfort ... And have had a few misadventures with us along the way. As a mom, all I can say is thank you Mo Willems for sharing this universal children's story in the personal twist of your own family tale.

Knuffle Bunny is a funny and engaging story about Trixie, a small toddler who accidentally leaves her stuffed bunny in a New York Laudromat. The story is illustrated by a combination of New York photos and adorable drawings. Toddlers love this book! Trixie's attempts to communicate with her father are hilarious and lead to much imitation! A joy to read.

We've been seeing the read-aloud video of this book for quite some time now. And my 4-year old son enjoys the book and he asked me to buy this. Mo Williams is his favorite author and he has most of the Pigeon books as well. A short and funny story that dads can relate well :)

My girls (4 and 3) ask me to read this book (together with the other two in the collection) every day! They are their absolute favourite! They have tons of books but they particularly love this collection. I think these books are perfect because you can speak about lots of different topics while reading them with your children. Knuffle Bunny is great to explain the importance of speaking out and letting others understand your feelings and what you are thinking (not just crying and being fussy). Knuffle Bunny too is great to speak about growing up, friendship, school… And Knuffle Bunny Free is my absolute favourite: you can speak about growing up, about visiting different countries, how different countries have different cultures, traditions and languages (the book shows pictures of Holland, China) you can speak about travelling, etc. I cannot recommend more the three books, and the illustrations are also breathtaking… So much to speak about and share with your children!!! Don't hesitate… buy a copy!
