Geometric Origami (Origami Books) [Goldman, Faye] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Geometric Origami (Origami Books) Review: More than I hoped for! - Great instructions! Most origami books I've read have decent instructions with mediocre graphics. This book has great instruction in text and clean graphics. These beautiful images on the cover can be created from the mostly pre-cut paper strips that are included with the book. The book is also spiral-bound (Such a huge and great production decision), so it lays flat on the table so you can use your hands to fold and not have to worry about holding the book open to the page you are working from. While the designs look very difficult, the construction of modules is really the key and is accessible to even beginning folders. There is also a pre-built decoration on/in the cover so you can see about the size of the finished projects. The largest completed piece in this book will likely be about the size of a cantaloupe (according to the author). Very Excited to get folding! Enjoy. Review: Recommended for origamy and geometry lovers - I bought this for my 12-year-old son as a gift, I still haven't given it to him, but I'm sure he'd love it. The book itself is excellent, love the bright colors and the little pouch, It's made of a great material. He has been asking for a book of origami and polyhedra for quite a while. He has been doing simple polyhedra on his own, but this is just perfect for him. He loves origami and also math, geometry, and everything related. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Creative ideas and they seem easy to make.
Lots of ideas and easy to make, but you have to make a lot of pieces for each project. The way the projects are assembled is not quite what I expected, but the models do look great. I haven't had a chance to make any of the projects, but I did thoroughly go through the book, and the projects seem easy to make. Kids would love them, and depending on the age, they may need some adult supervision. (or some adults may need some child supervision for those with gifted children who love origami. :) )

A lot fo fun with cool results!
So much fun and easy instructions to follow. Bought this for a class but have continued to make more designs out of the book since it has ended. Gives you all the paper you need to make each design once. They make great gifts and you will receive a lot of compliments. Having an origami paper cutter helps a lot.

A step away from typical origami
These models are folded from strips of paper, not your typical squares, so it offers something different. The folding is pretty simplistic but attention to detail is important during assembly. The instructions are well written but I generally just referred to the photographs for assembly as I found that easier. Some of the models do have over 200 pieces but if do modular origami you've probably done models with that many pieces. I'd suggest following the colors used in the instructions or the last models will come out with a mish mash of colors. The only downside to this type of origami is that paper strips of this width are not commercially available.

This book is not only for adults - kids who like to build models and do Lego-type activities will love ...
I'm a mid-level origami enthusiast, and I had picked up some Snapology via Heinz Strobl's Web info before i got this book, but this book was a big help. The format is clear and practical, and it shows you how to deal with models having larger angles between the modules. Having the pre-cut strips with the book is a stroke of genius! You can get going right away without having to cut a bunch of paper or hunt for ribbon of the right size, which can be frustrating to find unless Christmas merch is available. This book is not only for adults - kids who like to build models and do Lego-type activities will love it, and it's a good first step before trying geometric origami, such as in Tomoko Fuse's books.

Provides the motivation, the instruction and the materials!
In other words, everything you need is right here with the exception of a pair of scissors. I appreciate that the models are presented in increasing difficulty so that you can start at the beginning and feel like as you go, you pick up the ability to complete the final models which is pretty impressive.

Me gusta mucho.

This is my first outing with 'snapology' origami and I was keen to try something new. In my search I found this book and I have not been disappointed. It comes neatly presented in a folder with the book and pre-cut strips for the projects. I love that the book is ring-bound, so much easier. The strips being pre-cut for the projects is also super useful and means you can get going on the first project quickly. Highly recommend.
