But, between when I purchased this and Christmas the little bracelets exploded in popularity at our school and I knew she'd love it. I decided to go ahead and buy the Rainbow Loom, too, so she and her little sister would each be able to make bracelets at the same time. This loom is okay, and the instructions are clear enough that my 8 year old was able to figure them out w/ minimal help, but my 10 year old was quickly annoyed because there are only a few designs possible with this one. The Rainbow Loom allows for many different designs because you can quickly change the loom's configuration. Also, this loom is made of slightly lower quality plastic so if it got as much use as the Rainbow, I'm sure it wouldn't last as long. This serves the purpose of allowing both girls to weave at once, but otherwise I wish I'd just sprung for two Rainbow Looms.

This loom is so flimsy, the hook is so hard to use, and it looks like the pegs that hold it together will break on my next use of it. The bands are ok, so if you get this set cheap it will be worth it for the bands and clips. You can truthfully only make 1-2 types of bracelets on this loom. If you are searching for a cheap loom for your kids, you are so better off getting them a crochet hook and perhaps this loom, for the bands and clips only really, then turn to Youtube for tutorials on how to make bracelets without a loom. I know the Rainbow Loom can be pricey, especially if you have several kids who want to play with it, but it's truly worth the price. But if it's just not in your budge, then get a cheap crochet hook from the craft store and look for the tutorials, your kids will honestly have more fun than with this kit. I gave it three stars because the bands are decent, you get some clips, and the loom is probably good for a bracelet or two before it'll probably break.

I ordered this as a surprise for my granddaughter because she was trying to make them without a loom. When my grandson saw it, he said he wanted the Rainbow Loom which does the same thing. They are both the same age. It must be a big thing nowadays. They both love it! Just make sure you get the Rainbow Loom if it's for a boy! He may not appreciate this one just because of it's name. I also got them both extra rubber bands at the same time I bought the looms. Great Gift Idea!

This was at the top of my son's Christmas list...and he was happy as a lark when he opened it. But....then we started to work it....then the drama began. We tried to follow the instructions...confusing! WE went on line to get step by step for beginners...no tutorials had the same base and the base didnt adjust to accommodate. We finally got "A" bracelet started...and didnt have enough of one color bands to finish it. Had to remake it multi-colored...and HE was not a happy camper!

I bought this for my granddaughter along with the 300 piece Expressions Glow-in-the Dark rubber bands; 12 pack of charms. This set also comes with its own package of rubber bands. It's a cute set but the loom is difficult for a child to use. The directions aren't clear at all. My granddaughter now uses her hands instead of the loom to make these cute bracelets.

I have so much fun making bracelets and necklaces! I am so happy that I am making jewelry.I made my nanny, moma, brothers and cousins bracelets and necklaces! I'm working on earrings now.

I bought this for my daughter who wanted to be able to do all of the fancy bracelets she sees her friends doing. After the loom arrived we discovered it's not set up to do most of them. We then ordered the rainbow loom that has 3 rows instead of 2.

My Grandaughter loved the bracelet maker. I think she has made at least twenty. I know what I'm getting for Valentines Day.
