Polyphenolic antioxidants, such as bioflavanol, have been shown to inhibit enzymes that promote histamine release, inflammation, and allergic reactions. Additional antioxidant support comes from vitamins A and E and the mineral zinc. This essential core of ingredients from the original formula has been enhanced with omega fatty acids, alpha-lipoic acid, and spirulina for better skin and coat support. Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are included in optimal proportions to support healthy cell membranes and to help control inflammation. Alpha-lipoic acid is a potent fat- and water-soluble antioxidant that is able to regenerate other antioxidants. Spirulina is a form of blue green algae rich in beta carotene, vitamin E, and other essential amino acids. It is highly bioavailabe and enhances protective antibodies.
