Perfect for Me
I purchased the Alpcour Bike Indoor Trainer Stand in August 2023, because as the condition in my leg muscles (compartment pressures) and ankles (ligaments and tendons) worsened, I was at the point where I could not walk any faster than a crawl. I needed a non-weight-bearing exercise for cardio workouts, and the Alpcour Bike Indoor Trainer filled that need. Additionally, it has allowed me to perform cardio exercise after the bilateral surgeries while still in the big boots, which has made this product an even greater blessing! I particularly enjoy long-distance trail biking, sometimes up to 50 miles per day on my Trek Dual Sport 3. This is why I wanted to utilize my bike instead of purchasing a stationary bike. I researched several different brands and types of bike trainers. Once I had narrowed down the type, I then looked at the different Alpcour models. The one I purchased is their basic, entry-level model, which suits my needs perfectly. With more advanced indoor bike trainers you have access to data collection technologies about the ride via special apps, as well as other features. Because the Alpcour Bike Indoor Trainer is the only trainer that I’ve used, I do not have a basis of comparison like other cyclists may have. To read about the technical features of this trainer, you can view that on Amazon and other websites. The purpose of this review is to explain my experience using it. SET UP: This type of trainer locks into the back wheel of the bike, versus other trainers that remove the back tire (I did not want to do that). Getting the frame set up and my bike placed into the unit was very simple. With that said, there is a long metal bar that has to be inserted through the hub for use on the trainer. And then it has to be removed when you want to ride the bike outside. ADJUSTMENTS: There are two areas that can be adjusted to provide the desired riding experience. The first area is the metal roller that provides friction on the back tire. It may take some time to determine how firmly you want this to roll against your tire. Once you have it set where you want it, you can leave it as is. One of the downsides to this type of trainer is that it does wear down the tire tread, but I was/am not concerned about that. I want to replace my existing tires anyway. The second area is the resistance knob that attaches to the handlebar. This is an important feature that I wanted on a trainer because I can easily change the resistance while I am riding instead of having to get off of the bike to change it elsewhere on the unit; not all bike trainers have this feature. When first using the trainer, I moved the knob to different levels (1-6) and found that the #2 setting provides my desired level of resistance and the feel that I want. By feel, what I mean is that when I go higher than #2, the ride doesn’t feel as smooth. This feeling may be very different for different people and also may coincide with how I have the metal roller set against my back tire. Another reason why I do not mind just keeping the resistance knob set on #2 is because I like to do interval training with my leg machine and vibration platform. So keeping it on #2 allows for a great interval training workout while my legs and ankles are still recovering from the surgeries. NOISE LEVEL: From reading many reviews, this is a really important thing for people. I do not have any basis of comparison, but the noise level (to me) is acceptable. It makes a high-pitched whooshing sound that I do not find bothersome, and I usually have my earbuds in and listen to music anyway. STURDINESS: This is another subjective area that I think is based on a person’s overall riding kinetics. Some people tend to hold the core of their bodies still when riding, while others have a slight sway to the left and right while riding. The people whose bodies move more while riding may have a different ‘sturdiness’ experience with an indoor bike trainer, regardless of the type and/or brand. Additionally, bigger/heavier people may also have a different experience with a bike trainer than their smaller counterparts. If this is a concern for you, then be sure to look at the indoor trainer’s specifications to see if they have any weight recommendations for certain models. I’ve had no problems with sturdiness; I am 5’1″. FINAL THOUGHTS: For a basic indoor bike trainer, the Alpcour Bike Indoor Trainer Stand, is an excellent choice. It allows for easy resistance adjustment on the handlebar, provides a good ride experience once adjusted to your preference, and can be easily changed back/forth between indoor and outdoor use. Additionally, it comes with a bag and folds up into a packable size for travel. I am so pleased that I purchased this because it has allowed me to obtain cardio workouts despite challenging circumstances, which should be remedied in the upcoming months.

Very nice well made trainer with good stability and resistance range.
The trainer was promptly delivered and well packed. The instructions were simple, but very clear and easy to understand. My bike skewer did not fit well into the trainer sockets, so I replaced it with the one that was provided. Mounting the bike in the trainer was easy. I adjusted the tension screw just enough to cause the flywheel to rotate with the wheel. On my first attempt to ride, I noticed the friction was slightly erratic on the down stroke of the pedals. I stopped and readjusted the tension screw to be just a bit tighter and the problem was resolved. The resistance settings are a bit light if you stay in the larger gears. I have a 24 speed cog arrangement and have found that the second to the highest speed gear and #5 resistance setting on the trainer closely matches actual riding resistance at 15 mph. For hill training I shift to the highest speed gearing, #6 resistance setting and increase my speed to 17 mph. I moved my speed transmitter from my from axle to the rear axle so I can measure real road speeds accurately. May reviews complained of the noise. The tires on my road bike are smooth. The magnetic resistance device vibrates due to the moving magnets and on wood floors the sound resonates fairly loud. The faster you pedal the louder it gets. On a concrete floor it would hardly be noticeable. I didn't find it objectionable. I ride in a room of the house and my wife says she doesn't hear it in the next room. A rubber floor mat might or might not help. I found the height added to the stand to make mounting and dismounting awkward, so I made a 3" high platform that sits between the wheels and sticks out each side far enough to make mounting/dismounting easier.

Excellent all around
This Alpcour stand is very sturdy and works very well for my 700c (27.5") Schwinn mountain bike. The tensioner mechanism works just fine and adjusts the level of difficulty from 1 to 6. The stand was effortless to set up and start using right out of the box and it folds up nicely to hang in the 'bike garage' section of my closet. Very reasonable price compared to similar products, easy to setup, adjust, and use. The noise is comparable to other systems and is dependent on the type of tires you have, the floor material, and how much tension you have on your back tire while you're pedaling. I'm on padded carpet with mountain bike tires and it's a very normal/reasonable level of noise and vibration. 30-45 minutes a day on my road bike is very satisfying in the comfort of my own home in front of the big screen!

Muy buen producto, para llanta 29 hay que agregar un poco de altura, solo si lo usas en cuarto con alfombra. Es ruidoso pero se acostumbra, costoso por el envío y gastos de importación, pero vale la pena.

First, kudos to Amazon and to Canada Post for getting this trainer to me five days early! Delivery was guaranteed by Friday, October 30 and it arrived on Monday, October 26. Thank you. The package wasn't as heavy as I'd anticipated (I was mostly familiar with the spinner that my ex and I had with its massive 20kg flywheel and this was in comparison light as a feather, which didn't fill me with confidence). But once unboxed I could see that this was a quality item, sturdy and as heavy as it needs to be. There is nothing to assemble in terms of the trainer itself; the complicated part is getting your bike into it. You have to remove your bike's quick-release skewer for the rear wheel and replace it with the beefier one they provide you- this wasn't daunting but I'm not sure if I am now to leave the new skewer in for riding outside. The real pain is fitting the bike with its new skewer into the "cups" that hold it in place. It's not straightforward and I managed to put it in backwards (there is no picture showing where the magnetic "flywheel" goes, in front of or behind the wheel- spoiler alert: It's BEHIND or you can't pedal!) so I had to start over, but once it's in, it's in, and I've been training on it for four days now, started at a measly five minutes and am now up to 27. It feels WONDERFUL and it's so nice to be able to use my own bike, something I'd considered for a long time since I have this good-quality bicycle that I almost never ride. Now, I do.

This Alpcour trainer came fully assembled, it's built fantastic, sturdy and very quiet. So easy to set up, use and put away. First class product. Bought a second one for my wife as well.

It does work. Nicely unfolds as intended out of the box. The magnetic resistance dial works as well. However: I have mountain bike tires on mi bike and it makes some crazy noise (only negative about this) with this system. Some of my friends switch tires to some smooth version for the winter....for this reason...
