Look elsewhere.
The Carolina Cross is one of the larger watermelons, so this is a real product, but there are better places to get it from. These didn't produce for me. I'd recommend some of the reputable heirloom seed companies as Carolina Cross is an open pollinated heirloom. With watermelon seeds in particular, it's important to get them from a source you can depend on being disease free. If size is your only criteria, you might consider Blue Rind or Kolb's Gem as well. I've had those up around 70lbs. If 40lbs is big enough for you and you want it to actually taste good to, then you need to be growing Jubilee. Jubilee also has really good production for a watermelon. Keeps well too.
