Wright Products - Standard Duty Pneumatic Screen and Storm Door Closer, Black

I recently installed this Wright Products screen and storm door closer on my door, and I’m very happy with it. The installation was quick and straightforward — the instructions were clear, and everything lined up perfectly. Once installed, the operation is smooth and noticeably quiet. The door closes gently without slamming, which is exactly what I wanted. The black finish looks good and blends in nicely with the door. We installed two Andersen 3000 series screen doors (the self-storing half-screen w/glass type), a black one for the front and a white one for the back door. Love the Andersen doors BUT the closer they include doesn't open to a full 90 degrees!?! No idea why not but it was driving me insane so I got this as a replacement. The Andersen has the nice foot-activated lock switch to hold the door open...whereas this one has the old fashion tab you have to slide. The foot tab is convenient but not opening to a full 90 degrees is a deal breaker so the stock closer had to go. I already had the Andersen closers installed so I just removed the two pins and inserted this new closer using the pins included in the package. Took some minor adjusting of the pneumatic part (loosen the screw at the end so it closes a little quicker) and it works great! Just an FYI - there are two holes on the tip of the closer and the directions indicate one is for a glass door and to use the other for a screen door. I found the hole labeled for the screen door worked better and was easier to adjust to the door latches shut at the end. I didn't use the brackets that came with this (already had the Andersen brackets installed) but I will say they seemed kinda cheap/weak compared to the brackets that were included with the Andersen door. Still gets 5 stars though since it's advertised as a "standard-duty" closer and the brackets probably would have worked fine anyway. Now the doors open a full 90 degrees (just past 90 actually, maybe 100 degrees) and I'm happy!

Bolted right up to an existing failed spring. Replacement took about a minute and is working perfectly.

Seem to work just fine. We used the product before and it broke in under 3 years of use. It may have been a defect or a use error on the install. Was extra careful installing this one and checked all the parts.

I had been looking for a latch for my 2 homemade screen doors. I picked this one because it said it would fit doors 5/8” to 1- ¼” door. I have had problems with my door blowing open with the wind even though it had a spring loaded flip over latch (which was quite noisy when it closed.) The instructions for the Push Button Latch set were detailed enough that I had no problem installing it using the template. The plunger is the only thing that had to be shortened to fit a narrow door. I found the easiest way to shorten it was by using a pair of side cut pliers. The instructions do tell you how much to cut off by using a measuring tape and how to do it. It also has a flip lock which works smoothly. With the latch, I also bought a Wright Products V920BL STANDARD DUTY PNEUMATIC CLOSER, BLACK. Amazon product B000CRHYK0. The door closer was also very easy to install using the detailed instructions included. With the combination of the 2 items my door now stays closed and closes much more quietly. Since the first one worked so well I purchased a second for my other door and installed it. We are very pleased with the easy installation and the performance of both the latch and the door closer.

Didn't realize how bad my front door's piston was. This was a MAJOR upgrade from the oem closer that came with the door. Door closes nice and smooth, there isn't much sway (when the door hits the piston and goes back and forth), and door closes fully and latched.

This worked great! It replaced a very old shock that had been on the door for years, the exchange was easy. It is super quiet and easy to adjust.

Even though the door closer works as intended, the ad for this product says it is a standard duty closer the one that was delivered said light duty on the packaging…Otherwise the review given here would have been higher…

Funcionó perfecto. Sencillo de instalar. El único detalle es que no recomiendo regular la velocidad de cierre (si la aumentas, pierde fuerza). A mi me funcionó perfecto con el ajuste que trae de fabrica.
