The Birth of a Legend
I would say this is the most elabourate kit I've seen for Darth Vader anything. I am accustomed to the 1970's toys though. You get a work table, two droids both very articulate, and the crowning achievement, Darth Vader under construction. You can pose him in full costume with his light sabre(also included) and disasembled, his right gauntlet, lower legs, and chest piece are removable, as is his helmet.(of course) the face of Darth Vader bares some resemblence to Hayden Christensen(though quite red and burned) I will point out, however(the reason for my 4 stars) It isn't very scarred, only the back there is one. The eyes are well done, as is the expression. The mouth piece lines up with the helmet which is surprisingly easy to fit on the right gauntlet uses a bit of force to go over the golden electronic arm(which is very nicely detailed and a brass color, flat beautiful!) the legs also use force but will not break the item, you cannot assemble him yourself on the table, only off as it takes a lot of force for some parts, the chest piece can be fit on the table. He also comes with a cape which is plastic, making it impossible to fit him in a tie advanced fighter, and even off his undercape is not removable, the part that hangs below his waist. His face is not as detailed as the "Battle Damaged" individual figure" but the point here is assemblage/disassembly the "Battle Damaged" dismemered figure will also fit on the table included with this one and you can post this one also as a fully functional Darth Vader fighting old Obe Wan though I point out the right hand will not hold a sword and you must use the left hand(robots hardly care which hand is used anyway) Except for the (somewhat) lack of detail on the face/head and the fact he will NOT fit in a tie figther of his scale, I will say this is a wonderful editoin to your Star Wars Collection and if you collect ANY Star Wars memorabilia at all get this and also the "Battle Damaged" scarred Anakin indivual figure even if you get absolutely nothing else, THIS is the whole point of the Story George Lucas told!

Better collectors item than toy
I have been a big fan(geek)since I saw episode four in '77.Like many others in my age group who were counting down the daysfor the release of 1 through 3,I believe this "scene in a box" sums up all our reasons why.We know what happens,we just wantedto see it happen. As I stated in my title, this is not a toy. There are allot of small pieces inside this box,and I'm sure theintent was to keep this box closed and on display. Not good at all for small children or if you intend to take it out of thebox to play around with. For the serious collector in my opinion, and worth every penny!
