A work functional work of art!
I am so impressed It's hard to know where to start. First,function- My Ka Bar Becker BK-2 fits perfectly. Measuring from the top of the sheath to the square part of the hilt or end of knife, when inserted, my BK-2 is approximately 2 5/8' out of the sheath. Plenty of room to grab the beast yet deep enough for secure storage. Granted this is only day 2, and these are my initial impressions and I have not field tested. This sheath is beautifully dyed (my words) Hershey Bar brown.I can't talk to you about leather by the Oz., or Lb. but this sheath is nicely fat. The craftsmanship in my opinion, is superb! I keep looking at it , as I am now, trying to find something wrong with it, but can't! The picture you see does not do this piece justice. I suggest if you are reading this that you stop now and buy this if they're still available for what I think is great shipping time! 2-3 Days, we'll have to look at my order times. .....again, I don't know the terminology, but the stamps or designs that border the sheath look like half a sun, are perfectly spaced, the stitching is flawless, no trimming here. I am considering buying another so I don't "use" this one. Prolly not. This sheath should be in your family for a long time. If it's on your belt it's not coming off unless your belt comes off. (see above, have not field tested) This sheath is a work of art that you will be proud of. It is stamped on one side with his makers mark. It says from top to bottom; Carl Thomas-MAKER-Pass Christian MS. I wish I could get one for my Ka-Bar Warthog, most all of my other knives are represented in this line. A handwritten note of thanks to ME was included! This is the way you do business. Thanks Carl Thomas Jr. for a remarkable sheath. Edit: 5/9/17- field tested this weekend. Works great! Why have I not known about cross draw sheaths before? It puts the knife in the handiest position you could ask for. The lack of a retention snap or loop makes you grab this knife and use it more than if you had to unsnap something. I spent all day in the woods and had no retention problems. The sheath makes it easy to use my BK-2. Also I was sighting in a G19 w/CT laser and the adjustment tool fit perfect on the front part of the belt loop that wraps around the entire sheath. Need 10 stars for this one
Superb quality sheath. Price is truly too cheap for the quality. Leather is perfect. Stiff and holds form. Tight fitting. Every once in a while you find a product that’s made by someone who knows how its used. This is one of those. Sheath made by a person that needed a great sheath and made one. They even sent it with a thank you note and a contact number in case there were any issues. Quality product made by a quality person!! Thank you!!

Great Quality Leather and Crafsmanship
The leather is top quality full grain leather; craftsmanship is also top tier… would have given it 5 stars but the retention is a bit loose for my liking.

Top notch! Worth every penny and more!
Before I write about what I love about this sheath, let me talk about the quick shipping. I made my order in the late evening and when I woke up in the morning I got notice that it had already been shipped. Not only that but it arrived days befor expected! Who does this? Carl Thomas that’s who! Got a handwritten note with it also, this guy cares about his customers. Now on to the sheath. This is my first cross draw sheath, it just made more sense to carry a heavy BK2 this way. It’s a high quality leather sheath made of thick leather, the stitching is good and tight, it’s tastefully decorated and not over done. The hand tooled marks are a real nice accent. The knife fits in good and tight and won’t slip out. I turned it over and tried to shake the knife out but it stayed in and held tight. This is important to me! It slides in and secures with a slight push and is held in place. Overall I’m very happy with the sheath and very impressed with the speed at which I received it. I would highly recommend this sheath if you’re looking at a high quality cross draw. Going to have to get one for my BK9 next!

Great value for the money!!!
I bought a sheath from Carl several years ago for my Schrade Sharpfinger and have worn it daily around the farm and it has been the best value for the money I think I've ever spent on a sheath. I was looking to replace the original sheath that came with my Ka-Bar Becker BK2 and finding this sheath made by Carl was a no brainer for me. Shipping was fast and as I expected the sheath is of the same quality and functionallity as the one I purchased for my Sharpfinger. These aren't super fancy ( even though I have worn my Sharpfinger out to dinner a few times) the sheath does get complimented on frequently. I wear the Sharpfinger up front and to the left of my center line where it is easily accessible. It stays in place and the knife has never fallen out. I don't expect anything less from this one. Thanks Carl. That's another sheath well made.

Very Nice Sheath for Ka-Bar Becker BK-2
Very happy with this sheath. Fit, finish and quality of materials are perfect. As someone else mentioned in a review, the pic in the Amazon listing has an almost greenish tint, but the actual sheath is a nice dark brown. Leather is about the perfect thickness for protection and durability. Has that nice leather smell. This sheath is an absolute bargain at this price point.

I am cross, as usual
Where did anybody get the idea that a sheath should dangle from your belt? If you like things that flop around when you walk and catch on everything that is near you, then get that ridiculous thing called a "dangler" and dingle, dongle, and dangle your woods time away. And, if you are wearing a coat or even a longer jacket, you can spend 10 minutes getting your knife out of that ridiculous sheath. And, as you might guess, I don't like regular sheaths much better, but at least I can usually shove those into my back pocket if they aren't the size of a sword. The answer to all of this is the cross draw or small-of-back sheath, with the cross-draw being preferred because you can see it to get the knife back in there. This is a good one, and I wish they would make them for more knives. I just got a quote of $160 from a custom knife maker for a sheath for a simple knife, so this one is quite a value for the low price without being one of those "cheapies."
