Think i got factory seconds, maybe even thirds...
Have worn carhartts for years, never a complaint Til now. This past April, i nstead of trekking down to Anchorage, i decided to order a couple pairs here instead. What i recieved were the poorest quality carhartts I've ever seen. Both had areas that were cut short & poorly stitched. The first pair was toasted before summer had reached its stride. A cargo pocket on the second had fully severed before first snowfall. Now, less than a year from when i ordered them, the second pair had also bit the dust.Granted i may just have amazing luck and ended up with the 2 random bad pair, but I've never seen such poor quality carhartts at the store, so i for one won't order these from here again.

Ripped after two months
Really disappointed because these pants were great for my job as a vehicle technician but I sat down and my pants ripped after only two months. I really hoped that these would last.

Waist band came apart after 2 months of usage :(
Totally Bummed. While shipping, color and fit were as expected the quality is questionable. We we're searching for a good rugged work pant. These barely lasted two months. I'm a property inspector. Lot's of ladders, inside, outside, under and on top of residential and commercial buildings. Usually the knees are the first to go (9-12 months) in my Dickies of the past. I was hoping to upgrade with the Carhartt brand. Not so much. Of all places the waist band came apart. My wife rack dries all of our outer clothing and is careful on her end. The waist band? We have included pictures. Looks like the stitch just tidbit take to one side of the band. Who knows? Anyone know if Carhartt has some kind of minimum quality warranty?

"Ripstop" .....but they ripped.
Worked great until the "ripstop" failed today. I expected these to last more than five months being from Carhartt but maybe that's only their American made product. These pants say made in Nicaragua. Anyway, the point is, I'm disappointed. Maybe someone can point me in the direction of quality ripstop pants ?

One day in Hollywood . . .
I was recently working on a new television series where the wardrobe notes asked for the kind of clothes people who work outdoors wear. It turned into a real festival for us, as so many actors were glad to show up in our favorite Carhartts and various kinds of hiking and work boots. In the midsts of this ‘show and tell’ I saw one actor wearing these pants that I had never seen before. Of course I had to have them, and ordered them immediately, right there on set.PROS:The ripstop cotton is lighter than the duck cloth, and while the duck cloth—particularly the double front pants—are awesome, I’m pretty sweet on this military grade ripstop material as well, for both durability and comfort.I ordered them in ‘coffee’ color rather than the signature brown, tan, or green. Coffee is a nice addition to the Carhartt color lineup.Reinforced pocket area for my multi tool!! Thank you Carhartt!!! I typically can’t put my multitool on my right pocket where it belongs because it will wear a hole in my pants. This solves the problem. Sure, it’s basically a pocket protector, but I like it, a lot.CONS: Only one. There are a lot of great pockets on both sides, perfectly sized for all sorts of tools and accessories, but no just plain phone pocket. Sure, I can put my phone in one of those pockets, but it’s not ‘quick draw’ accessible. On the other hand, my phone fits in the pocket nicely without sliding around, and the closure, even while unsnapped, keeps it from jumping out when I do a little run or jump—which is a problem with other mobile phone pockets.BOTTOM LINE: This is a whole new kind of pants for Carhartt, and it’s obviously the result of listening to their customer base rather than catering to pop culture the way so many great brands like Timberland and FOX Racing have done. Thanks for keeping it real Carhartt.

Great pants, very sturdy.
I'm a big guy with a big gut so sometimes it's hard to find pants that are comfortable in all the right places. These pant fit great. They seem very sturdy and I expect them to last a while. They did not shrink after the first wash. There are a couple of things you might want to consider with these pants....not bad, just need to know. First, they are a little heavier than I'm used to wearing. I think it's just because they are Carhartt brand but this is my first pair of their pants so I don't know if that's typical. This isn't necessarily a bad thing since, I assume, this is what makes them so sturdy. Second, they are thick and a little hotter to wear than other fabrics. I think I'll appreciate these more during colder months but I'm not sure I'd want to work in 90 degree weather all day in these. Again, these are not necessarily bad qualities but things you might want to consider.

what is the real size...
seems like every year how long an inch is changes... I've always had trouble finding pants that fit, 40 inch waist is too tight and 42 is too loose. After reading the many reviews here it sounded like everything ran smaller then stated size. Since I just wanted something to wear for doing yard work decided to go with something that might be extra big that if needed could use a belt or suspenders to hold up and not have to worry about having to return something that ended up too small. Well bought the 44 inch waist and it's very snug, won't need a belt or suspenders. My old 42 inch waist is still loose but since the seat has worn through can't wear those any more (which was odd since the only time I wore them was to do yard work and never really sit). My old pair was made in Mexico and these new one in Nicaragua, maybe they use a different length inch in each of those two places? Or more likely Carhartt cares more about profit then quality products. It's a shame what used to be a name that could be trusted for quality and reliability has become no better then a cheap no name brand in discount stores that cost a lot less.

Good trousers
Really like these trousers. Tried order 2nd pair but size, cut, manufacturing, was a bit smaller although the same size on label. Unfortunate because there really nice. I have opted for a pair of Pentagon Elgon trousers also very good, sizing a bit more to EU fit. Both 100% Cotton my main reason for buying them in the 1st place.

Give them 6 stars
What a quality product washed them before I wore them beautiful fit very comfortable fairly soft fabric and most of all warm which was most important to me as am less abled and suffer from the cold on first inspection turned them inside out and found that there were no snaggy bits of cotton and the seams were tight so will buy again and well worth my money 6 stars
