Overall I've been very satisfied with this pointer. I needed a relative small pointer and this was exactly what I was looking for. It's basic, but the parts seem sturdy and well made. When collapsed it's the size of a small pen and clips easily onto a notebook. The tip and handle are metal, so if you need a soft-tipped pointer, you need to look for another product.

This is awesome and a must have for anyone that does any type of side by side training. I am an applications trainer and this is perfect when sitting beside my customers and pointing at items on the computer.

Nothing wrong with this one, works great but I think a colored tip would have worked better for seeing exactly what I was pointing to. Almost got the colored tip but changed my mind last minute with regrets now.

So, I originally purchased this extending pointer so I can irritate what I would call a cranky 13 year old while she did virtual school as I teach in another virtual class. It WAS supposed to keep her awake and focusing. It worked wonders. She’s been awake and focused on her classes since she didn’t want to get poked/nudged. Well, I guess she got tired of it and has decided to abandon me for the good old fashion brick and mortar school and now I’m sad. Oh well. Although I won’t be able to make my colleagues entertained by attaching odd things, I can now play with an orange terror and keep it occupied. As well as to poke the 13 old cranky pants, or anything really, from a safe distance. It’s a comfortable weight not too heavy and definitely light weight which makes it easier to hold out with one handed for long periods of time. It’s shaft is sturdy. I was afraid that it would be one of those items that would break or bend when extended and some pressure is placed on it. It also has a nice slide to close which is perfect for slow emphasizing and it won’t close when you don’t want it to. Very happy with the poking stick.

Very well designed! Solidly built, easy to extend and retract. Buy it!

Does what it needs to do. The red / orange tip at the end is useful to pinpoint the place on the slides you are trying to highlight. Very happy with this purchase.

Use it for homeschooling my son loves when I use it lol

I already had one of those before, but my students went crazy after seeing me use this specific one. It's longer than the old one I had, and it's in black. Awesome! However, after a month or 2, the top most segment is now slightly bent, and sometimes it feels as if it will break (only top segment). I hope it holds its ground. I guess this is happening because sometimes I hit things with it (sometimes things, sometimes the students lightly and jokingly). Those hits probably put stress and pressure on it. It ain't meant for hitting. Lastly, the paint will scratch after use and storage (storing it in random places), unless you store it in the sleeve it comes with.

Practical use.

I wanted a pointer for use in my classroom when I need to point to posters that are up high, which is frequently. I was concerned about whether the pointer would feel flimsy when fully extended but it is very sturdy. I also like the red tip which makes it easy for students to track. An excellent addition to any language teacher’s kit.
