Cangshan V2 Series 1024128 German Steel Forged 23-Piece Knife Block Set, Acacia

The first thing I have to say about these knives is that they are beautiful. They all arrived in great condition and they are packaged for shipping very securely. The knife block is very well made with high quality acacia wood. It is somewhat heavy as it is a good solid piece of wood. I don’t think you will accidentally knock it over while moving around in the kitchen. I’m sure you’ve heard the old saying that the most dangerous thing in the kitchen is a dull knife. No worries about that with these! Sharp, sharp, sharp right out of the box and seem to hold their edges and have a good balanced feeling in my hand. Impressed so far but time will tell.

I was in Germany and decided to buy and ship a set of real German made Wüsthof knives home as a gift for someone. Wow - the price for a set with less pieces was so expensive and then add the shipping - it would have been well over $1500. I decided to look on the internet, Williams Sonoma, etc. and found they are still pricey. I saw this Cangshan set on Amazon, and it had great reviews. I bought it and my daughter loves them. She had not bought a nice kitchen knife in 22 years to replace any in the block given to her at her wedding. They are extremely sharp though. So be very careful, you don't realize how dull your knives are until you use one of these. The wood block is very heavy and large but not too large for the kitchen counter. Wood grain is beautiful. All good substantial knives. No useless pieces. The steak knives are rather large for kids though. A very very good buy! Would highly recommend.

Holy macaroni are these sharp!!! I'm over 40, from a farm, so I have been cooking & cutting from my teens all the way until now. I know what I'm doing when it comes to normal everyday kitchen knives...but these things! Wowza! I cut myself on 3 fingers on the first project with them! 2 of the cuts were on the hand that was HOLDING the knife!!! - Don't ask me how I did that....I'm special that way. Uff. I think I was just so nervous with them that I lost my mind for a few minutes. These seem to be a wonderful set. I am very happy with them. I have never had so many options when it comes to knives. They send a cheat sheet with the package to tell you which knife goes with what food. KEEP IT...shove it in a cookbook or something. You'll want to know which knife does what in the future, and where it goes in the block so they're not just in there all willy nilly. I have never put them thru the dishwasher. I always wash by hand, right after I'm done using them, and put them back in the block. They're too sharp to be sitting in the sink & little fingers/hands reaching in unknowingly. We don't need a trip to the ER stating the kid grabbed a knife! Social services would LOVE that... I would definitely recommend this set. It's heavy, and seem to be good quality. Nice thick blades, yet nicely balanced. This set isn't for rookies though. You'll end up in the ER. BE CAREFUL!!!!

This is a top quality set of knives and I've waited to review so I could test them thoroughly. They are well made, with a thickness all the way through the tang. The handles are comfortable, and after long periods of cutting, chopping, my hands do not hurt. The block is beautiful, and having read other reviews before my purchase, I understand some concerns about its size but the set I bought is a large set, a block size that is consistent with the number of knives is to be expected. Having had other top quality brands and been happy with them, I was reluctant to try something less well known but these impressed me, they're extremely sharp, and probably the sharpest knives I've ever owned. I've cut carrots so thin they were transparent, this surprised me and as ridiculous as this sounds, it made me curious if I could shave with them. I can. I can't say which knife is my favorite, but all of the knives have held their edge well, if the steel was sub par, this would have revealed itself right away. But even the bread knife continues to slice bread so thin it will surprise you. Others in the house use knives as tools, and even under these circumstances, the knives are holding their edge. I am very pleased and expect this set will continue to impress.

We purchased the Cangshan V2, 23-Piece Knife Block Set. Would I recommend it? Yes. Are they worth the money? Yes, the quality seems apparent to my wife and I. We are very happy with all the knives in the set. The Cangshan bread knife easily cuts clean even slices of our home-made bread. Our old bread knife labored through the bread and the slices were very uneven. All the knives seem to be very good quality. Cangshan counts the woodblock as a “piece”. There is a fork, scissors, honing rod, and with 19 knives you have a palette of different knives that can make your kitchen work easier, safer and quicker; if you are aware of how to use knives. The wood block fits well under our cabinets, it is the about the same size as our old basic 22 piece woodblock set that we gave away to our college age son for his apartment.

Great set of knives, in a wonderful knife block. I have wanted a sharp knife set that looks good for a long time. This one ticks all the boxes.

I missed out on these ages ago when they were on offer at Costco, but so pleased when they appeared on Amazon. Great choice of blades & very sharp

Excellent packaging of all knives including a cap on the tips to avoid shipping damage, all knives are very very sharp indeed so take care, they appear very well made including the handles and block and appear of good quality, pleased i chose this brand seem very good for the price point. No idea how long they will stay razor sharp as delivered but initial signs are good. I will hand wash these knives as I believe that will aid in keeping them in top condition a dishwasher would be too harsh on the wooden handles anyway.

When I unpacked my knife set and found it defective. I contacted Amazon UK and Cangshan. It was left to Amazon UK to resolve the issue as Cangshan customer service told me that they would offer no support, informing me that Cangshan's no hassle lifetime warranty does not cover the UK. Something I wish I'd had known beforehand. Cangshan knives are not cheap and a very risky investment with zero warranty.

Good ease of use, quality. Good appearance and sharpness. Not suitable for dishwasher.
