We have mix-and-match dinnerware in my house for everyday use, mostly Japanese and Scandinavian design blue and white dishes, with a few others in greys and black thrown in. I just don't like the matchy-matchy look much, and find the eclectic look fun, not to mention practical over time when it comes time to replace items. These little plates are just darling, and fit in beautifully with our other dishes and bowls. They are sturdy, but not overly heavy, and a great size not only for tapas, but also desserts, snacks, side salads, bread and butter, and even as a holder beneath small dipping bowls. They add elegant punch to the table, and bring a smile to my face when I see them. Actually, I purchased these while my husband was away, and was worried that he would not take to them. Not only did he like them, but a couple of weeks later, he asked me to order another set! We use them all the time. They work well with any coordinating color dishes, not only the other Royal Doulton Pacific items. Very pleased with the purchase, and highly recommend these versatile little cuties.

Being that blue is my favorite color, I'm glad I found the tapas plates here (for the best price, I might add). These 6+" small plates complete my set of 9+" plates, bowls and cups. Served homemade tapas style meal in these and they were a hit! Even made some homemade icecream and served on the tapas plates. So far, I've used them in the microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer. No issues so far and the colors are as vibrant as new. I like the weight of these. Not too heavy nor light, but enough weight to not be flimsy nor too heavy on the wrists. They are good quality and not like delicate china. I've also used them to serve foods that might ordinarily leave colored food stains on Tupperware but nothing has stained these so far. Glad I found them!

Love the blue and white plates. I had cups from this pattern from a Marshall's. There was no hesitation when I saw the plates. In fact I have 2 sets. Royal Doulton is a great brand.

I loved the pattern, it’s old. The new one is “green mint” color. It’s porcelain so good durable quality. If you like the style, get all the dishes at one, cause amazon is the only ones that have the prices affordable still. I had a hiccup on my order, but it shouldn’t detour you from getting them, specially if you find the mugs, small plates and soup bowls or pasta plates. No need for dinner plates. This 9” plates are perfect for lunch or dinner size unless you like the bigger ones for chargers. In any event, you will be happy.

Does anyone need these platters when a side plate will do? The answer is of course no, but if you're like me and you're really into the Royal Doulton Pacific range, when you see pieces you haven't already got, you have to buy them. We used the Royal Doulton set for our Christmas meal, had the jugs from the set for the gravy and used these for the cheese course. I really like the fact that they are mixed and feature a selection of the designs. At £44-55.00 they aren't cheap, but to a collector of Royal Doulton Pacific they are priceless!

Slightly disappointed to see that they were made in China not the UK, but the lovely design made up for it.
