This is such a cool product and I’m puzzled more people don’t know about it. If you custom order through seller Locks Chocks Tiedowns, these are available custom to any Master key code. I have now replaced all of mine with a keyed alike set. These are arguably not the best from a security standpoint as it’s just a 3/8” steel cable held by friction. The lock can be cut and does weaken over time. But, it’s an incredibly versatile flexible cable lock that can go through tight openings where most other cable locks can’t get to. There is really no better option for securing a roof rack, trailer, or pickup bed full of whitewater kayaks or bikes. I’ve used these to secure kayaks and bikes in all kinds of sketchy areas throughout North America and have yet to encounter a thief who didn’t think some other car was a more desirable target after inspecting these locks. No lock is perfect. A determined thief will find a way through these with an angle grinder or maybe even a big enough bolt cutter. But most thieves will move on to a softer target. This will get you through any whitewater event and even most mountain biking destinations. I’ve even trusted it in a raft guide camp within Denali National Park. These are good locks. You won’t find a better lock with this degree of versatility, especially at this price point.

The Master Lock 8413DPF Python Adjustable Locking Cable, 6-Foot x 3/8-Inch aarived last week and is more than expected in terms of Quality / Vesatility. I figured for the money it would be less as well made but should have known better since it is a Master Lock. I have used various Master Lock products throughout the years with good results and have for the most part been happy with thier quality. This lock has a vinyl coating around the 3/8" (10 mm) 100% braided steel cable that is constructed of good materiel and feels as if it will hold up pretty well to abuse and the elements. The lock itself also looks as if it will do well in the elements. The lock mechanism is made from aluminum so no worries with corrosion. It is a very appealing piece to say the least even thoe it's just a lock. I believe it will hold up very well. It's very versatle in that it can be adjusted to many applications with it's infinite locking positions. I use it to secure the front wheel of my Motorcycle to it's frame (I run the cable through my spokes, through eyelet on Nelson Rigg Cover, and around through the frame)to prevent it being riddin off by a thief in the night and also to secure my Motorcycle cover all in one swoop since my Motorcycle has to remain outside at all times in the driveway. I love the fact it is fully adjustable, if it were'nt I would have nedded two seperate locking mechanism to accomplish the one task. I also read that one can buy extra seperate cable lengths to use with the same lock but have not looked into it yet allowing for even more versatility. If you need an adjustable locking cable that can withstand the abuse of the elements than your search should be over. This is unbeatable in my mind for the price and quality recieved with this one. Just go for it and you'll be very happy you did.

This is a solid product to protect my valuables. Very easy to use.

Purchased this lock to replace a chain to lock my generator to my travel trailer. Much lighter and eliminates potential damage from the chain. I've also found it is great for locking my RV surge protector to the campground electrical post. The ability to draw the cord tightly allows it to work at most any campground!

Works as a lock for securing the surge protector for our rv to the power pole and gives me more peace of mind that no one will steel it, however the lock is rusting and has only been outside for a few months

Use it to lock my Thule Ski tram to the bike rack, for some reasonThule did not come up with a way to interlock products. When not in use i throw it in with the spare tire so its there when i need. The fact that it’s flexible and adjustable with the ratchet feature is great. Its not like a loop bicycle lock.

The design of this cable lock allows you to pull the cable through the lock to cinch the cable down tight. This feature makes it perfect for securing an RV surge protector to your camping site electrical service box. When cinched down it is impossible to lift the cable lock up and over the post mounted service box. If your power chord is designed to accommodate the cable you can easily secure the chord as well as the surge protector. The cable is heavy duty yet fairly flexible.

Bought this to lock my kayaks up when I take them on camping trips. These are perfect for that! Looked around at a variety of cable locks that would fit thru the drainage holes in my kayaks but ended up choosing this due to my trust in the brand. This lock cable is super easy to use and feels and looks strong- I doubt anyone will try to help themselves to my kayaks when they see this super thick cable and the name on the lock itself. I also like how it is adjustable so it does double duty of holding the kayaks in place as well. Only thing I would point out is the cable isn't that long (6 feet) so you will be limited on how you can use it: What I am doing is using a foam mat on the ground to protect from damage and locking the kayaks sitting on their side to the rear bumper of my RV. This is well within the 6 foot cable lengths ability for two kayaks. Happy camping!
