This has been a reliable staple in my hair routine for a long time. One of the first things I always notice (and appreciate) is how long the cord is — it makes styling so much easier, especially when outlets aren’t conveniently placed. It also heats up quickly, which is great when you don’t want to wait around. The flat iron works well for both straightening and curling, and the results hold nicely. It’s simple, effective, and does exactly what you expect it to do without unnecessary features. Personal thought: The main downside is that it really only has one heat setting, so there isn’t much customization. That said, it still performs consistently, and it’s the one I always pack when I travel because I know I can rely on it. Overall, it’s a solid, dependable tool that’s stood the test of time.

I have always loved the Chi brand to straighten my hair. I’ve owned multiple over the past 20+ years. I have very curly hair and I tend to let it dry naturally the day before I straighten it and this Chi can still handle all my curls. Most of my hair is nice and silky smooth and straight after one pass! I can’t believe how healthy it looks after straightening! It takes me about 10-12 minutes to do my entire head of hair and I have a lot! This Chi is lightweight and the cord swivels which makes handling the straightener easy peasy!

My dad has an Afro and my mom has straight hair, so I have a balance of both, being very wavy too extremely curly on any given day. This thing works great, even with very thick hair! I am shock as I’ve always used larger plates on hair straighteners I have purchased in the past. I was a little hesitant because I was reading the reviews and some of them were saying that it’s a fake item or that the cord gets tangled easily. The product works great for hair, straightening as well as curling. I’ve never been able to curl my hair with a hair straightener, EVER! I looked up a YouTube tutorial of how to do it with a 1 inch plate, like this item has, and as I followed the tutorial, it was super easy to achieve the perfect curl, and I was literally gasping in the mirror as the curl dropped. 360° swivel cord makes curling super easy! I don’t think it’s necessary to buy a heat glove, since the tips of this hair straightener definitely do get hot, the 360° swivel cord makes it so you can just turn the hair straightener with your right or left hand without using both to achieve the perfect curl. Totally recommend this product even if you have very thick hair! My hair is also colored and I use product in my hair and I didn’t notice anything on the plates after I was done. Once it cooled down, I did wipe down the plates with some vinegar, just to make sure that I’m not leaving product on the plates themselves. I had to get a new hair straightener, which is why I purchased this one, because I didn’t clean the last one good enough and my hair always smell burnt. There is only one heat setting ~ Which in this case is not a bad thing. I believe it said it would goes up to 375°, my other one had a couple different temperature settings the maximum 450 or 475°. Even with very thick hair straightener heats up to the amount that I need for my hair to become straighten, smooth or curly and smooth.

This item was a gift for one of my favorite bartenders and I’ve noticed it works great on her. i’m just trying to take care of the people who take care of me. It’s the least I could do.

MY GO TO FOR MY HAIR.... if you are looking for a styling tool that can give you all sorts of styles in a matter of minutes then this is the product for you. I have had this same straightener for almost 9 years and it is still going strong. I use it almost everyday and it hasn't failed me yet. I have naturally curly/wavy/frizzy hair so I use it to tame the curls and frizz and get a textured messy look. I have used it to do stick straight hair and to get tighter curls but my favorite way to use it is to do the textured waves. This brand is high quality, leaves a smooth finish and doesn't damage your hair (obviously it will if you leave it on too long and burn it- you just have to get the hang of it to know what works for you) Any age can use it, so its a great buy for a middle schooler or teenager that wants to find their own style and do quick touch ups to their hair or fix it up for big events. Its slim and light so its not too hard to hold in your hand while you fix your hair and it fits in a suit case easily. the black color is esthetically pleasing but i do think they have some other fun colors to choose from. It is very simple to use- just an on/off switch- and then you wait for the red light to stop blinking (about 60 seconds) and you know its ready to use. It does NOT have an auto-shut off, so you do need to remember to shut it off or unplug it after use.

Gets super hot. No heat setting... its ok, but wish there was a hear setting on it.

Woa! I thought I already did a review for this. I'm so sorry to find out that I did not, as this product is one of the best that I've purchased on Amazon and it deserves some credit. First, let me address the fact that the one I purchased a few years ago that I still use today had a set temperature setting. That is why I love this tool. It keeps my hair in good health because it does not reach the point where it will burn your hair. Ladies, if it has to be spelled out: THIS IS A GOOD THING. So before I re-started my straightening routine, I had my husband cut my hair VERY short into a bob to get rid of the bad ends that had too much product and hard water from FL that I could not get out. The bob was cute and I didn't mind because it's just hair...it grows back. It always grows nicely when I cut it. So, after cutting it, I started to grow it back out. I don't use any chemicals on my hair except Revlon blue/black hair dye. I wash once a week and try to keep my scalp very clean as it starts to build oil the day after washing although I have curly hair. After washing with Kenra clarifying shampoo, I just follow with cheap V05 conditioner that I get from the Dollar Tree. The reason I use the V05 is because it doesn't have a lot of "dirty" stuff in it aside from the Red33. I use the strawberry moisture milk. It's paraben free and has all of the vitamins that my hair needs. I do not put the conditioner close to my scalp. Since my hair is thick it is so hard to get the conditioner off of my scalp. After conditioning I put a little Pantene miracle 10 in 1 on the ends, not even spraying it directly onto my hair. I spray one pump on my fingertips and apply to the ends. Then I just blow dry it with a round brush. Then, I straighten with the Chi. I've been doing this for the past few years and it works for me. I have never gone wrong with this Chi. Just make sure you clean it with alcohol before using so the tool is clean. The reason flat irons tend to stink up your whole house is because there's product burned onto it, so make sure you keep it clean. Last but not least, I love this iron because it costs $150 less than the other one that I used that did not keep my hair as healthy. So, the price is right. I keep my hair clean and healthy with this routine. I've been doing this the past few years and since I like to leave well enough alone, I will continue. I hope this works for you.
