Pluses: Lather whips up well, and stays warm enough (double wall construction). Stainless steel is really easy to clean. Looks good sitting beside the sink with the other shave equipment. Won't break under normal drops and falls (I am pretty clumsy so it has been well tested... already). Price/quality ratio absolutely cannot be beat by anything else on Amazon. Service: Order came well in advance of stated delivery date. Well protected and undamaged. Viking Revolution took the time to inquire about my satisfaction. Overall a great experience. Minus: just a quibble, the bowl is too light for my heavyweight badger brush (it tips over even when full of lather or worse with my non-lathering shave cream foam). The problem could well be my brush is abnormally heavy at the base (opposite the bristles). I would not anticipate any issues with a normal weight brush. Bowl is on the small side.

A buddy of mine convinced me to give wet shaving a try over the spray foam & plastic razors I've used for decades. I needed a bowl, or mug, for whipping up lather. This Viking bowl seemed to be a good deal for someone buying all the gear at once. After a month of use I have a good sense for what I'm doing now I think, so I think I can give my opinion on the bowl. Pros: Stainless steel bowl that will not rust. I doubt this bowl will harbor bacteria between shaves. Looks great on my vanity with Viking's brush/razor stand. The small diameter makes it easy to hold while whipping up soap into a good lather. Cons: The mirror smooth exterior can become very slippery while whipping lather. The bowl's sides are basically vertical, so the bowl is very narrow. This makes it easy for the soap to go over the side while making your lather, and that's when it gets slippery. This is where a mug's handle makes a big difference over a bowl. Overall though I quite like my first shave bowl. The small size is great on my small bath vanity, and I can get a good lather going in the bowl. Only thing I would change is maybe adding some grippable texture on the outside.

I bought this bowl for my husband for Christmas, but I HAD to check it out. I have looked at so many shaving bowls/mugs and they all were not up to par. Some were so cheaply made they already had dents in them before purchase, or the ceramic was very thin. Hubby really loves Viking Revolution oils and beard balm (I love the scents) so I decided to stick with a company I KNOW is great! The bowl is very well made, and double layered stainless steel.Well weighted, feels good in the hand. Great design and the bowl can be easily stored when traveling! Highly recommend this bowl! ( and I also got him the shaving brush and the 4 pack of scented soaps to complete the set). I can't wait for Christmas to come!!! And should there be a problem, they WILL make everything right. Great customer service!!

The no Bravo-Sierra: The first thing you are going to notice is the small size. Turns out it is the perfect size and shape if you are 2-3 pass, face only shaver. The steep walls keep the lather in the bowl. It could probably hold enough for your head too but why struggle? Go with a bigger bowl or just complain. For me it is perfect. I need one to lather easily, fit in my medicine cabinet, look great......check, check, and check. I don't go in for the ribs, ridges, handles, girly crap, woke, pc correct smells like fairness in a MAN'S product so this fits the bill. No ribs or ridges doesn't mean it lathers slower, it means you can keep it clean easier. Stop looking for unicorns, they're funny and fun but they aren't real. Price is the final win. Practically disposable in price which is ironic because it will probably last years.

Perfect! I’ve been using the Art of Shaving creams but have been looking for the best ways to apply it efficiently. This works great for me.

The item appears to be well crafted, good looking, nicely packed, etc. It is a simple product and it works but...it IS tiny. A new round piece of shaving soap fills it up to about 3/4" from the rim. There is not much space to make foam. It is usable but not too convenient for daily use. It would be okay for travel, I suppose. It is an unbreakable and lightweight too. But I do wish it were perhaps a couple bucks more but an inch taller and larger.
