Dream shoe
I was skeptical about these shoes as they are closed-toed. I've purchased this brand before in an open-toe and it fit fairly well, but purchased another in a shoe and it was so tight I couldn't get my foot in.I love these shoes. Even when I put them on I wasn't sure. But I walked around the house a bit and they felt like an extension of my feet. The leather is soft so it doesn't cut in at the base of my toes, like other Mary Janes tend to do. The back strap's elastic makes the strap feel like a second skin. It moves with me and doesn't feel tight when I lift my heel. The strap across the top velcros all the way. Usually, for me, I have to put extenders on elastic straps, or punch more holes in the strap for buckles, but this strap attaches all the way. I can't believe it. Perhaps it is because it straps on a diagonal and not straight across?Anyway, I love the square toe for my square shaped, wide feet. The platform under the heel is all solid rubber. They are so soft and comfortable when I walk. All the shock is being absorbed by the rubber.Very nicely made shoe. Beautiful. Now I want more colors. ;)

How could anyone consider that this shoe runs large? It's normal sizing if not a hair too small, just like OTBT's boots
I have a collection of OTBT boots through Athleta and am now extending my collection into their shoes and sandals. I'm a solid size 7 almost all the time and it's rare for me to have an issue with shoes being too narrow/too wide. If anything I size up to a 7.5 where required. The OTBT boots definitely have a tendency to run small, and I do a 7.5 in those so socks/tights have a chance of fitting. Before reading all the reviews I was going to do the same with these shoes, maybe get one in both size 7 and 7.5 to see how it went. The ones I'm looking at are called Bottle colored, basically dark green leather worked with floral scrolls, black strap. After reading all the reviews to size down I did so, and have now gone through 3 sizes...and size 7 is still a smidge tight around the toe-knuckle area (where the lip of the shoe ends and the top of your foot begins, or where the metatarsal bones start) if I want to keep the option open to find the right colored tights to pair with a dress with these for colder weather (might sound hideous but I actually think black would look darling with the right knit dress). This is basically the exact same narrow trouble area the boots have. I've just ordered a 7.5 to compare with the 7. Here's the thing: the 7 is ok, my foot doesn't budge a millimeter while walking around because there's that length of elastic under the inner ankle wrangling your heel in from going anywhere. Like the OTBT boots, the shoe is a narrower shoe, as shoes go. My heel has a good amount of space before it gets near to bulging over the edge, because that elastic strap is pulling your heel forward so firmly. I'm considering that this shoe will wear in, the elastic strap and the front lip both may loosen up a bit to a perfect fit, but right now I feel like if I walked around in them for more than 2 hours I'd get blisters because my foot is so firmly lodged by the whole design structure. I don't get blisters with their boots (in 7.5).Not sure yet what to do, I'll wait for the 7.5 to come in. I'm actually having a similar experience with their Sheffield model, too, right now. I've got a 3rd size coming because I've been reading all the bogus reviews on here to size down and the whole time I should have just been keeping to my normal sizing with the added consideration for the fact that OTBT designs for a daintier foot (you're not going to get wide hobbit feet in an OTBT shoe). For the likes: you can see it's a lovely design, just darling. The foot bed is wondrously cozy. The green color is exactly as pictured and very cute, I'm already planning out which of my Athleta knit dresses I can pair it with. As for the quality I'm wondering if I'm going to encounter the sole of the heel detaching like other reviewers had; examining the quality in that area I guess I could imagine that happening, though they look fine to begin with. I'll be calling OTBT right up if that's the case. But I hope these beautiful shoes stay in tact and live a long life...once I can get the right size sussed out.

Very Happy with These
I had a nearly identical pair of shoes like this by Palladium that I purchased 10 years ago and wore until they recently fell apart. I loved them and wanted these to replace them. I tried these three times before they worked. I am a true 5.5 but often wear 6s and I have wide feet but fit in average shoes. I ordered a 5.5 and the toe box was too flat/small. I ordered a 6 and they were huge. Waited nearly two years while trying to find a replacement, finally tried these again in a 5.5 again, and this time they are perfect. I am guessing the manufacturing is a bit inconsistent? Anyway. FYI if you get a pair that isn't right, maybe try again. These are so comfy and go with everything from casual to dressy.

My Little "Hooves" OTBT Shoes: A Little Too Stiff and not Stable Enough a Heel
I ordered a size 6.5 in black. I have to preface this by saying that I have never owned "clog" type shoes before. My feet are wide and small. I am technically a size 6 on the measurements and my arches are very high. My width is wider than usual but not so wide that I would have to get "special" shoes that are for a wider foot. I typically don't like to wear any kind of shoe (besides sandals) with socks. So I was puzzled by this pair: yay or nay on the socks? I decided to wear them all day shopping without socks to see how they were. First I wore them in the house for about an hour. No real problem there but I could tell that they were a bit snug. I thought maybe it was because of the leather breaking in and I was right because by mid-day, I had to adjust them every 30 minutes or so in the back so that they would not rub on the back of my heel because they have loosened. The strap is velcro so that little button is just for show. I got some of those liner type no-show socks at a store I was at because it felt like the strap was going to cause a blister. The liners just made things worse BTW.At the end of the day, I went to another store to try on some other shoes thinking I would need them because these were hurting. But when I put them back on, they seemed ok. Like they needed a breather or something. Not perfect, but ok enough to continue on.Keep in mind that if you have small feet like me, these shoes will sort of visually "compress" your feet making them look even smaller. I kept telling my husband to look at my "hooves" as the shoe looked like little hooves on me.Another thing to note is that if you have a tendency to roll your ankles like I do, then these shoes may not be stable enough for you. I almost rolled my ankles several times over the day. I was not sure if it was because I was getting used to them....but a bigger part of me was saying that this should not even be a worry with the shoes I wear. I do wear high wedges too. These are just high enough to be able to roll. A more stable (wider) heel would have done wonders for this shoe.I am going to have to delegate these shoes to the "occasional wear" pile.
