Great value and easy to use
It couldn't have been simpler to use - hook the USB cord to the computer and the line in to line out of my tape deck. In a couple of days I recorded cassettes demo tapes and had them on CD. The Audacity software is easy after you read the directions. I admit that I already had experience with the software since we had purchased an ION USB phonograph for my father in 2007 and I was the one who had to make it work. Oh, and the price was right.

Awesome for a simple product.
Finally a sound device with a PHONO support. (may not live forever, but we can try.) -- Also, PHONO pass through design (in and out.) Possibly output audio using Phono. (will test after Christmas) Automatically recognized by XP without installation media (which is good, because it doesn't have much. Uses Audacity, a Sorceforge Open Source project as it's software. Very powerful and decently simple program to use.. very small design means you can find a pocket to store with your laptop. Old-style USB adapter. And the price is awesome.

Did not work
I think the description was misleading and it did not function properly for me. I could not get any sound out of it to monitor and in the instructions it disclosed that the input can not be from any audio-out source as is stated in the description and must be from a record-out source only also it's possible the unit was defective as it shipped from the return center and the instructions state that if your input is from a speaker out it could damage the unit.

Hard to use
I received the iconnex ikey very quickly. It had no directions as to how to use it. I am still trying to figure it out. Software is difficult to use. Still trying to figure it out too. Have used it one time successfully but could not figure how to break into tracks. Still trying to figure that out. This is not for anyone that is not experienced with the computer. I e-mailed seller and he said it was simply a plug and play item. Then What??? Got to know what to do after it starts! I may figure it out some day I hope.

useful, not perfect
It does transfer tapes and vinyl to .wav, and then to CD. The included Audacity software doesn't deal well with old vinyl, but does handle tape cassettes well. Hook-up is fairly easy if you have some background. It is certainly cheaper than some equivalents (RadioShack has an $80 version). If you're patient and have the time to coax the software into performing properly, it's a useful thing to have.

I key- Audio Iconnex USB Soundcard
Very good product more sturdy than it appears to be. Nice grips on the bottom that are not shown in pictures, and in and out switch.
