I Am...: Positive Affirmations for Brown Girls

I gave this as a Christmas gift to my niece. It is probably more appropriate for older children. At least 3 years old. She is only 16 months but I still feel like she sat good for me as I read it, its just she has no clue what I was reading as far as comprehension goes. It's still nice though, it just means she'll be able to enjoy it a lot longer.

I buy books instead of cards for my niece and nephew’s birthday. I got the I Am affirmations for my nephew a few years ago and his parents read it almost daily. They were excited to get this one for my niece. Great affirmations for kids to continually hear and remember as get older and become their own person!

This is a positive, uplifting book for young and adult girls alike! It instills confidence and positive attitudes in my daughter who is 10 (and myself) daily. Whether I read the book to her or she reads it to me, our day is brighter as soon as we see this book. The author is spot on with this book of affirmations and I couldn't be more proud to read this book over and over again with my daughter! Thank you for bringing love and positivity and special moments to my family everyday! Highly recommended book for all girls, all ages!

Great book of positive statements and discussion starters (at the end). My 6yr old daughter liked talking about herself and says she wants to do it everyday lol. I will do my best to ensure she’s confident (not vain) and this books helps us talk about the difference between the two and more. I can see my daughter growing positively in a world that’s so cold with the help of to this book. So thank you. It’s short and sweet and easy to read. I have decided to purchase more of these.

I can't image how many shade of brown you had to click through before you landed on the hue for the books main character, but you nailed it. I can imagine her as any ethnicity or nationality without trouble or mental adjustment. Truly, a book for brown girls, a book of fundamental, positive expressions for brown girls. I bought this book for my daughter .. and she Absolutely loves it. I recommend this book for all Brown little girls. Definitely a nice Christmas/Birthday gift for my nieces.. I like the fact it has questions that you can ask for conversation, and the child can also write in their own Positive affirmations..job well done!

This book is adorable. The affirmations are on point & so encouraging. It arrived yesterday & read it immediately. My granddaughter wanted to read it again, and then again first thing this morning. This is important book for all little brown girls to have in their collection!

WOW the affirmations are great BUT when I bought the book I thought that was all I was getting. I was pleasantly surprised to find a series of well thought out discussion questions and space for my baby girl's own affirmations on the last few pages! This book is a gem and I'm picking up one for all of my nieces. 11/10 stars.

Excellent book for young black girls/babies.

I understand the purpose of the book; however, they could have put way more effort into the content and the quality of the final product.
