This Amazon Basics electronic keypad deadbolt is excellent for home security. The keyless entry is incredibly convenient — no more fumbling for keys or worrying about losing them. Programming the codes was simple, and the lock feels sturdy and reliable. The design is sleek and functional, fitting perfectly on standard doors. It provides peace of mind knowing that my home is secure while offering the ease of quick access for family or guests without extra keys. Overall, this is a high-quality, easy-to-install, and convenient deadbolt — perfect for anyone wanting modern, keyless security for their home.

Been using it for a month now and it’s been working great. Installation was fairly easy. Programming is a little odd sometimes. Some entries have to be done with the deadbolt “locked/engaged” and others have to be done with it “unlocked” and it can be confusing to remember which is which. Other than that, the lock itself seems to be good quality.

Easy to install with one caveat. If the lock isn’t at factory reset settings when installing it might not do rehanding properly. The programming code would only work with the door locked and would unlock when pushing the lock button and lock when pressing the unlock. I fixed this by installing batteries with the lock not connected to the keypad and pushing the reset button

I honestly don't know what to say. This HAS to be a quality control error, but if that's the case, I would avoid this lock anyway. It uses a KwikSet KW1 keyway, that's fairly normal. But it utilizes it in the worst way possible. I was able to open it by picking it on a single pin. No special binding order, just apply some tension, hit pin 5, and turn it open. I haven't been picking locks for very long, only a few years now and this is, by far, the easiest lock to open that I've ever run across. Other than that, it looks the part! It seems like it should be super secure and will probably ward off most would-be burglars. But this isn't something I'd recommend for ANYONE to use in ANY application. It's THAT bad! I wouldn't even trust it to lock a 3 year old out of a room.

I have "brand" name electronic lock on my door that I spent well over $100 for. I wanted to get my parents one, but wanted to save so money so I tried this one. I am so mad that I spent the money on my "brand" name one. This lock is great. Pros: It looks very nice. I purchased the satin nickle and it adds a very sleek look to the door. Very easy to install and program. Honestly it took about 8 mins to remove the old lock and add the new. Super easy to use. Punch in your code and it automatically unlocks. To lock, just push one button. Cons: (Not really any, just a few observations) The part of the lock on the inside of the door is large. It take up about 8 inches on space on the back. If you live in a humid climate, like I do you may have to pull the doorknob when the lock opens and closes due to the wood swelling. The lock won't lock or retract if it hits resistance. Overall I love this lock. It looks great, works well, and is easy to use and install. For the price you can't beat it; in fact Amazon could raise the price (please don't) and it would still be worth it. I will be buying more and putting them on all my exterior doors.

One of the reviews used instructions from Kwikset but lacked the part for deleting the factory programming code. Here’s the FULL INSTRUCTIONS: here’s how to run the door handing identification process on your AmazonBasics Electronic Deadbolt: On the keypad, enter the preset Programming Code (0000). Next, press the Unlock / Lock button. Press 0, then press the Unlock / Lock button. You’ll hear the motor of the lock run, then stop after a few seconds, indicating the door handing identification process is complete. So that’s all you need to do to teach the lock the orientation of your door (door handing identification). How to Change the Default/Existing Programming Code on Your AmazonBasics Electronic Deadbolt? So after performing the door handing identification, the next thing you want to do is change the default Programming Code. As you probably know, this lock comes with a 4-digit default Programming Code (0000), and you’ll need to change the default code to ensure security. To change the default/existing Programming Code on your AmazonBasics Electronic Deadbolt, follow the steps below: Enter the default Programming Code (0000) and press the Unlock / Lock button. If you’ve previously changed the Programming Code, enter your current Programming Code and press the Unlock / Lock button. Press key 4, and then press the Unlock / Lock button. Enter a new Programming Code (4 digits), then press the Unlock / Lock button. If the lock flashes green twice and beeps twice, it means the operation is successful.
