Software/camera does not work with Windows 8
I like the microscope just fine, but the software for the camera does not work with Windows 8. I called AmScope proir to ordering to ask if it would work w/ Windows 8 and was told that yes, it would. When it arrived we spent hours trying to get the software to work, so we eventually called AmScope for help and were told that it does not work with Windows 8. So if your computer runs on Wondows 8, save yourself the money and just order the microscope because the camera and software are useless unless AmScpoe comes out with an updated software. There are no instructions included with the microscope, so you have to guess at how to change out lenses and what the various pieces are for.

Great Product, great price (at that time)
I bought this for work, but it was too powerful for our needs there, so I bought another for the lab. Camera works well, easy to work with, assemble and learn. Shipping was prompt, and packaging was enough to offer adequate shipping protection.

Not completely sure I got what I thought I was supposed to get but...
OK...it arrived exactly as claimed. It is indeed an excellent microscope for the money. I am very happy with the scope itself. However, mine came with a 120VAC 20W incandescent bulb instead of the LED as described and, it came with a small spanner wrench which, for the life of me I can see no use for. It did not come with a very small Phillips head screwdriver, which there is a need for.The "instructions" were, aside from being a nice basic general overview of a microscope, virtually useless.I got the 2.0Meg camera but I have not had time to try it out yet. I'll let you know how that goes later. In all; don't shy away from this very fine scope. It's just that you will need to have a little scope and mechanical savvy to make it all work. And yes, I would buy it again.4/3/14 Addendum:I'm sending this back. I am not happy with the hot, incandescent bulb I noted above instead of the LED promised and, now I discover I did not get the 2M Pixel camera the description stated came with the one I bought. I tried several different calculators and every single time 640 X 480 equaled 307,200. I just could not get 2,000,000 out of it.Very disappointed because otherwise, it's a great little microscope.

Problems right out of the box
This appears to be a nice micro-scope, however right out of the box the light didn't work, I had to unscrew the cap and wiggle the light and it fnally came on. There is VERY little instructions that came with it, and NO instructions on how to operate the device on a computer. None of my computers recognize the CD it came with. Although it looks good, I am very unhappy with the lack of ease of use and LACK of instruction. It seems very basic but there is no troubleshooing info, no directions on what the CD is even for, and since it will not even open, I don't know what is on the CD if anything at all. I've contacted the seller and I am awaiting a response. Not very pleased!

Could be better
Bought this microscope for my daughter's birthday after reading many positive reviews. However, I was expecting more...Negative:1. Eyepiece on mine was not held in place by anything, unlike some of the reviews I came across.2. Noticeable dust and debris on and inside the 10x eyepiece (have not tried 25x yet). Try to clean it with my digital camera cleaning kit without success.3. Single lens condenser was also dusty4. Mine did not have user manual (the user manual on CD was inadequate for basic microscope operation but good for camera mode)Positive:1. Good camera (2MP) and easy to setup.2. Daughter was happy. As a pharmacist, I have used many microscopes, so I was expecting much better quality eyepiece. I will contact AmScope for recommendation on how to clean the eyepiece or possible replacement. I spent so much time trying to clean the 10x eyepiece, I did not even get to use the 25x eyepiece.

The image's quality is not so good as I expected
I had a dream from my childhood to have a microcope with a camera. Finally, I decided to buy, to be free to dream about other things. :) What can I say about this. I little bit dissapointed. Without hte camera it provides more or less good picture, but not on Maximum zooming. Except not sharp view on the maximum zooming, there're srange spots on the view, what looks like a microscope defect. I tried to detect the source by rolling the lenses, but it didn't move, what says me it's something iside the device, means no chance to clean-up it. The worst is I can't return it, since I'm living outside USA and bought it during my last business trip to the USA.Except this, when you are looking on this view on the computer, it's much darker comparing to the view in the binocular. There're buttons should allow you to ajust the brightness in the AmScope software. But they are disabled!Of couse I had some fun with this, by looking on different stuffs, epecially it's interesting to observe a liquuid honey contains pollen from different plants and I have a plan to utilize this in my another hobby - I'm a beekeeper. But if I would have a second chance, I would never buy this device.

VERY IMPRESSIVE!!
As a scientist, I use microscopes frequently. Mostly they are the expensive variety found in professional laboratories. I purchased this one for my home primarily because of the camera. I am VERY pleased with both the microscope and the camera. The microscope is solid and really well built, unlike the cheap plastic ones you would normally find in this price range. I purchased, and would highly recommend, the mechanical stage (Mechanical Stage For AmScope M148, M149, M150, M152 Series) that is sold separately, this greatly enhances the fine adjustments while moving the platform (stage). Otherwise, the coarse and fine tuning in the focus is smooth and precise. The camera is also very good. There are a few blemishes in the lens that slightly interfere with the image, however, the blemishes usually fade away during focus and are easily ignored. I sent several snapshots to a colleague who expressed his envy that I had such an expensive device in my home. When I told him how much I paid, he immediately ordered his own! :)
