I use this as a weekly homework assignment to build my middle grades students' knowledge in vocabulary. The assignments are accessible and easy to understand for all learners, and I notice them decoding new words using prefixes we've covered thus far in the year. I lost my original copy during a move to a different campus this summer, so I picked up another to replace it. Same book, and worth buying a second time.

What a wonderful resource for middle school teachers! I began using this my second year teaching after my first year of flailing about trying to figure out what I was doing. This makes vocabulary quizzes so much easier to plan for and after about three weeks my students understand prefixes and suffixes and are rocking these quizzes and expanding their vocabulary. The activities are great for homework. I just love this book. I've used it for three years now and it's still going strong.

More activities and opportunities to work with the prefixes would help. There are no exercises for use in sentences or in writing.

I purchased this book with the main purpose in mind to help my granddaughter with her studies. However, the book refreshed my mind. The various ways that Ms. Callella uses to reinforce the lessons are great. Great investment!

I bought this to help me with word study in my classroom. I teach 6th grade reading and English to students who are struggling in those areas. Part of our IIP at school is to teach about 10 different prefixes per grade level. I actually needed to purchase this green book and the red prefix book, to get all the prefixes I needed. Anyways, the purchase has been well worth it. It has about 5 actvities/worksheets per prefix, plus a quiz. Usually when I buy books like this I end up modifying everything, but not this time. I really like what is in here. Well worth the money, saves me time from creating the material myself and the kids have learned so much! They are applying what was learned in previous lessons to new lessons. These series of books were actually recommended to me by another teacher in my district. She loves them too.

This is a very good book to use to teach prefixes and suffixes and there are many exercises to reinforce the prefixes and suffixes that have been introduced. Once this book is used consistently and thoroughly, students will have a firm grasp of prefixes and suffixes.
