WIlton Cake Carrier and Server with Locking Lid

What a nice cake caddy—this beats any that I’m replacing. The dome is very high, and adequately holds bundt and angel food cakes with room to spare. I’ve found locking latches on most kitchen gadgets are cheaply made; not so in this instance. It’s the main reason I bought a new cake caddy—these latches are strong, easy to operate, and tightly seal in freshness. The caddy’s handle is no-nonsense and built right into the dome. For once I feel confident my desserts will make it to their destination without any mishaps, and the plain white platter makes everything look appetizing.

This is a fantastic pie carrier. It has three snug locks on the sides which hold it firmly in place. The handle on top is just the right size for an adult hand, and its centered placement makes it easy to carry things level.I use this mainly for carrying tall custard pies (9" shell), and it works beautifully. I recommend using some non-slip shelf paper/liner as a standard accessory under your pies and cakes, as it helps reduce slipping. I expected that this cake box would provide a safe way to carry cakes and other delicate baked goods and wasn't disappointed. It has good sturdy construction with three locking tabs and a comfortable handle. It is easy to clean - I put it in the top rack of the dishwasher to keep it safe. I didn't expect that it would extend the shelf life of the Red Velvet Cake we had made for the holidays. Our family gathering got delayed by a few days and the cake sailed through with flying colors. You could hardly tell it hadn't been made the day before! I'll be giving these as gifts because I think most folks just don't know how useful they are - I don't know how I've gotten along without it!

My wife baked and put 3 pies in this container for a christmas party. While carrying the container by the latched lid handle, the container popped open and dumped the pies on the floor. I had a very very mad wife. The containers I received only had two locking hatches but the amazon on line description says it has 3 locking hatches.not as advertised. Sending them back

I purchased this cake caddy because I do recognize the name Wilton, for baking supplies. I wanted something that I could not only put a freshly baked cake in, but to use for left over rolls or muffins, things like that, so they will stay fresh.The size of this caddy is huge, more than enough space for me. When I make cakes I normally make a bundt cake or angel food cake, and I don't frost them. I just add chocolate chips to the batter. To me it doesn't need frosting, tho I do frost cakes once in awhile.Even if you do make a cake that is more than one layer, you should still have plenty of room. Even the base is huge.I do have some issues with my hands, and the 3 latches that secure the lid to the base are fairly easy to open and close.The whole caddy seems fairly sturdy, should you want to transport the cake to another location. It seems to be well made.I really would have preferred something that wasn't plastic, like a glass cake stand with a dome, which looks much nicer left out on the counter, but when I read the reviews they don't seem to keep things fresh, so I passed on that idea. The reviews for this product were excellent.It will serve my needs fine. It's fine, for what it is. Be prepared tho to need alot of room on your counter for this. You will need it.The shipping and delivery of this item was very fast too.

If you bake cakes and are thinking, "How the heck do I transport this", you definitely need to buy this.I made my 1st layer cake and wanted to bring it to the office as I walk to work. It was so easy carrying this at the handles and the cake did not slide around at all. The top is also very secure as I was afraid if it malfunctioned my whole cake would just fall flat to the floor. However, it's very sturdy and well made. A must in the pantry if you are a baker. The only negative thing is that it's huge, so I can't figure out where to put it in my small apartment!

I bought this for a replacement for my Grandma. She had actually glued her old plastic one back together after it cracked to make it keep working since she couldn't find one that was the same size and tall enough for her! So I got online and found this one. The plastic is great quality and thick. It isn't flimsy where you worry about it breaking immediately. It is a good size and will be able to handle any cake she will use it for. It has a handle in case she needs to use it. Overall, this is great quality and worth the money.

This is a nice, big, sturdy and secure cake carrier. As other reviewers noted it did fit a 3 layered cake. My 3 layered cake was touching the top of the lid however the plate the cake was resting was not flat and put nearly 2 inches underneath of it. Without the plate the cake would have had plenty of breathing room.(However that may not be enough space for cake with large flowers or other decorate icing.)The 3 latches of the cake carrier kept it together securely. The lid's handle fit my hand comfortable and most XL woman's gloves are too small for me.This will definitely keep a cake moist and made for an excellent presentation when I arrived to a Thanksgiving dinner with the dessert.
