Light weight and works better than I expected!
I live in Phoenix on an acre parcel and most of it is in desert landscape. Therefore no formal lawn to mow. Yaaa. However when it rains here the weeds grow, well like weeds. Fast and furious. This year we had lots of rain and lots of weeds. I've been running a battery powered weed eater every day for a week or so. My back is aching from twisting sideways back and forth so it was time to look for a better solution. I figured how about a small battery powered lawn mower and then I found this thing at about half the cost. So figuring I'd probably junk it after a couple tries I decided to give it a try. Really glad I did. Soon as it arrived I put it together and out I went. It had just rained again and everything was wet but I had to try it. Worked perfectly. Knocked down and chewed up everything I ran it over and no extra back pain as a bonus. I charged up the batteries( comes with 2) overnight and set out to do a good cleanup the next day. This thing is a real delight. It runs about 20 minutes on each battery and since the batteries are fairly small you can carry the spare one in your pocket. another thing about the batteries is the way they eject from the tool. Push the button on the battery and it pops out of the tool's battery compartment. I mention this because removing the battery from my other "green" weed eater is a real chore You have to push in 2 tabs, one on each side of the battery, and forcibly pull it from the tool. My wife can't even manage doing it and I barely can, often resorting to prying it loose with a screwdriver while pushing the tabs with both hands. The black and decker baterries just eject with 1 hand by pushing the button, I love it. When you get close to a fence or wall and the platform won't get close enough, the weed wacker removes from the deck instantly by stepping on a lever on the deck and lifting the handle of the weed wacker forward and up. To return it back in the deck reverse the process, simple and easy. Keep in mind this is a regular string trimmer. It is not a bladed lawn mower and does not do the job of a bladed lawn mower It is a string trimmer on wheels. because you push it similar to vacuming a carpet , front and back, front and back, instead of constantly twisting sideways it doesn't put the strain on your arms and back liike a regular string trimmer does. It does not mulch as fine as a mower would and if you have tall weeds or grass as I did you will need to make several passes, as you would with any string trimmer except you don't have to hold it up, just push it back and forth. I have not had to replace the line yet so I cannot comment on that, except to say looking at it, it looks like the exact same process as the other 2 trimmers I have. To clear the bottom of the deck I simply remove the trimmer and wash out the deck with a hose. its been coated with wet grass almost every time I finish. I'm sure dry shorter vegetation will cut much easier. I'm cutting damp weeds and bermuda grass about knee high. The deck is light weight plastic but seems durable enough. If the deck should deteriorate and I have to replace it, the replacement cost of the set is about the same as a different manufacture's string trimmer alone. but I'll worry about that if it happens. so far I have no regrets whatsoever.

Great little unit
I absolutely adore this mower/whacker! I have multiple small areas of grass that were once a pain to drag a heavy lawn mower over. I also wasn’t a fan of keeping and dealing with gas to mow a few small areas. This tool is lightweight and switches between mow/whack easily. Not a great choice for wet/heavy greenery, but makes quick work of a maintenance mow. I wish the battery lasted longer, but I love how I can just switch batteries and keep going. It has come in handy in a variety of applications outside of mowing my lawn and I love it!

Inexpensive weed whacker keeps on ticking
OK, so this is the second one of these I purchased on Amazon and I am still using it many years later. The noise level is outrageous but I only use it in my yard when the neighborhood gardeners are mowing nearby lawns. I actually use it as my main lawnmower for a small front and backyard. If you use it with the wheeled base, you can get a nice even cut with straight rows, but often I just go through the small front yard without the base. It helps strengthen my arms and wrist. It works perfectly as an edger and in area where the grass comes up between concrete slabs. Installing the plastic wire spools is not difficult but I just want to warn you not to install the spools with the battery installed in the unit. I think the unit is easy to push around. I'm 71 and still use it once every two weeks, though I sometimes need to rest a couple times when doing the much larger back yard. It is way less costly than a gasoline-powered or an electric mower. I had an electric mower for a while but it was just as noisy as this unit, the battery could not be replaced and, after a year, the battery would no longer charge. My unit is beaten up and has many grass stains and scratches, and sometimes the unit can disengage from the base if you don't keep the pressure on it the same, but when this one dies, I will probably by another one just like it.

Easy, Cordless, and Senior-Friendly Lawn Care Solution
This mower/edger combo has been a fantastic cordless addition to my lawn care tools. As a 70-year-old woman, I needed something lightweight and easy to handle, and this fits the bill perfectly. I recently let go of my lawn care service due to poor results and decided to maintain my lawn myself. This tool is simple to use and much easier to manage than heavy equipment. My only suggestion for improvement would be to include an additional charger. While the unit comes with two batteries, they are not quite enough to complete my ¼-acre lawn in one session. I purchased an extra charger so I can always have a battery ready to go, which solved the issue nicely.

Great for .12 acre lot!
My old trusty Black and Decker rechargeable lawn mower finally stopped charging and with only a 30x18 ft lawn I decided to give this tool a try. I love that it took only about 10 minutes to put together, and is lightweight and easy to use. The battery is also easy to insert and remove. The mower is a perfect size and has plenty of power to mow, edge, and cut down any weeds in the side yards on one battery as long as the lawn hasn't grown too tall; then the second battery is needed. I don't yet know how often the string spool will need replacement but the spool compartment was easy to open. It takes about 4.5 hours to charge an empty battery which could be better but overall this multifunction mower/trimmer actually makes yardwork fun and quick!

Great but not meant for a typical size lawn
Bought this because I could not afford a lawn mower at the time. It worked well in the beginning of spring, but once my lawn started to really grow in the summer, it just wasn't effective and it would take me an hour to make just one pass. Once I got a lawnmower i used it for just an edger. Unfortunately, I only got about three more uses out of it before it burned out and stopped turning on. As a lawnmower I think it's fine if you have a SMALL area of grass and need light landscaping, but if you have a full yard, it's not built for that. It's not terribly powerful, but good for the price.

it worked for a while. the 20 volt battery does not last long, this a glorified trimmer it does trim grass but it is not a lawnmower by any means,it does te job for about a week the battery eventually died te battery packsare very expensive would not recommend buying

I’ve been using this cordless mower since May this year, and it’s been a great fit for my small yard. It’s light and easy to push around, so mowing feels much less like a chore. The adjustable cutting heights are handy, and the 16-inch deck makes quick work of tight spaces. It’s quiet enough to run without bothering the neighbors, and the battery lasts long enough for my lawn in one go. Folding handles make it easy to store in my garage. For anyone with a small yard who wants something simple and reliable, this one works really well. Highly recommended.

I purchased this handy cordless Mower about 3 month ago and although it is great for some jobs, it definitely can't compete with a large gas powered mower. But it has a lot going for it too! Pros: Lightweight and easy to move around, especially if you are older or have back or other physical issues. Easy to use. Can get into small areas where a large mower is very impractical or won't fit. Great for touch up jobs such a long summer dandelions when the rest of the grass is short and dry. It can hack down taller grass too but takes a bit of time. I love it for going between small trees or shrubs because it won't ringbark the trunks or stems and you can get quite close in to the plant. The deck shields the tree from the string,if attached properly. It has two heights but I found the higher one works best for me and it was difficult to change it from high to low. It's great for small jobs and quite dry grass but will work ok too if grass is a bit wetter. The batteries last a reasonable time too. It's easy to clean and you need to hose it off after each use as you don't want grass to build up on the bottom or where the deck attaches. The instructions say not to, but otherwise you would need to wipe it clean which does not work very well. Just be careful with the water! Cons: The battery charger that comes with it is inadequate as it takes far too long to charge, almost 4 hours! I purchased an extra battery and the fast charger. It will charge in about 30 minutes. It's too bad B and D don't include the extra battery and the fast charger in the package price as I had to pay an extra $100 dollars to get the extra battery and fast charger. Once I had them though, all was good! The string trimmer attaches easily to the mower deck and the string spool has lasted all summer. You need to purchase a pack of string spools if you don't want to wind the string yourself. It feeds automatically and does a good job. The way the mower deck attaches to the trimmer is a bit iffy and sometimes comes off the trimmer. It could be held on better! Overall, I like it and it is good for certain areas. Now that I have it I wouldn't want to be without it. It's a great concept and too bad that other string trimmers such as EGO and RYOBI don't have one as well!

My backyard which is 30 * 50 feet had grass over 6 - 8 inches high. There was a bit of a learning curve on how best to handle the mower. As a result, I ended up using 3 batteries (having to charge one of them) in order to completely mow my rear lawn. Now, that my backyard is done and my experience using it in the front and sides of the house, it only took a single battery to mow and trim the backyard 4 days later. The advantages are many...Cordless (no fumes, no gasoline and no hassle with starting), extremely light and compact. Easy to clean and built sturdy and durable (as I had already dropped it twice when setting it up). The main disadvantages are the batteries will die under heavy load in about 15-20 minutes as found with thicker, lush lawns or cutting at its lowest setting. The charging time is 4 hours for a single battery making a good case for getting the fast charger with your initial purchase. Handling takes a bit of getting used to and the retaining clip that holds the trimmer in place can pop out due to grass build up if one is not holding the unit level, (I add light pressure on its rear wheels as I mow.) To be clear, this is for small yards and anything larger than 1500 square feet would be impractical as the mower is barely a foot wide. That being said, it cannot compete with the precision cut of a traditional metal blade mower but it gives a far better cut than the reel mower I had used for several years.
