Microsoft Excel 2019 Pivot Table Data Crunching (Business Skills) Review: The cheats I’ve been looking for. - I have so far made it through the first two chapters. Let me start by saying I’ve been looking for some sort of online guide or free course to take on excel for quite some time now. I have long known that while I am comfortable using excel, I have never been close to tapping into the true potential of what excel offers. Fast forward to last week when an executive requested certain data from me and advised me to get with another executive in the company. I had a very brief introduction to the potential of pivot tables. In that very brief hip pocket class I learned that with a few clicks of the mouse I could scour all this data, and just as quickly forget almost everything because it was too quick and I had nothing to practice and remember. This book is well written. I didn’t know about the downloads until I read about it in the introduction and just like that I have a top notch source to start building my base of knowledge to tap into the true potential of excel. This book is a must have if you work with data tables with endless lines of information that you need to separate. I was put on a project to dissect timecards to help my company properly bill services. I felt like a fool after someone so quickly showed me how to do something and I couldn’t recreate or manipulate the data the same way minutes afterwards. This book came quick and in the first couple chapters alone I’ve had a few ‘ah hah’ moments that made me regret not finding something like this sooner. I will be purchasing the formulas and functions book next and probably a couple others from the same publisher. Tasks that used to take me days to complete now appear much quicker to complete, making myself and my company that much more efficient. Review: Essential to master Pivot tables - I can say that I’m an experienced excel user but I learn tips and features I didn’t know they exist! If you want to master this excel feature and do powerful analyses, this book is for you. Everything relating to pivot tables are included, even VBA and how to publish in power bi service! Explanations are very clear. Illustrations are visible. Paper quality is good. Companion files are awesome. Go for this book without hesitation.

Easy to follow instructions and many exercises that can be downloaded.
Very helpful in learning Pivot Tables which have changed enormously since the late 1990s when I last used them. The instructions are written in an easy to follow manner with sufficient background information to explain why as well as how the processes work. While the charts and reproductions of Excel worksheets used as examples are not clear on the Kindle Oasis screen, the book can be simultaneously viewed on a PC monitor. Since the PC is used to work though the many examples it is fairly easy to switch between the Kindle and Excel worksheet screens.

Great Resource
The text takes a serious look at all indispensable features of pivot tables in Excel. Many ‘hidden’ features are not only well-explained, but as much cast in relevant context of day-to-day application allowing extracting additional value when it comes to productive usage of Excel. Great addition to my growing resources on financial analytics.

Worth its weight in gold
I am learning so much from this book that is positively impacting my quality of work life within Excel. I'm actually only 2/3's of the way through...this is very rich material! Also, Jelen and Alexander's sense of humor really shines through and makes the book very digestible. I couldn't be more pleased with this book. Thank you Bill and Mike!

Cannot download the practice files - UPDATE
I was so looking forward to this book and I even registered it with Microsoft Press and there are no files to download. I have downloaded it on my pc, ipad and iPhone and no files. It says I have to have a digital code to get related files. This is BS! Now I need to know if I can return a Kindle book. UPDATE - the files are now available for download. Just working through it and learning some new functionality.

After reviewing the book at the local library, recognising its value, I ordered a copy and did not regret. The book was very well written and easy to follow. The authors' knowledge on the subject and ability to convey it to the reader is impressive. Even if you are a veteran in using Excel, this book can be useful to you. This was exactly what I found. Need to use Pivot Table Analysis for a problem at hand? It's likely you can find a solution on the net after spending some time searching but for sure you would already knew of it after reading the book. To use Pivot Table Analysis as a pro, get this book and read. You will be pleased.

This is a good book to mainly keep on a shelf. Pivot table usage has grown far beyond what was ever envisaged or needed. For those who do everything in Excel, this is a good book. For everyone else: use a database or BI tool. Given half a chance, I'll avoid Pivot tables and use a database or Python.
