Great unit. Works perfect

I purchased this universal remote because I bought a collection of Lionel trains that had several Lionchief engines. Two of the Engines did not respond to their remote so I bought this in the hope that the remote was the problem. It did work with one of the failed engines but not the second. In my experience if you want to connect the remote to a specific engine on a specific number you have to go a bit slow - Either power up ONLY the engine that you want to connect or make sure that all the standard remotes are connected to their respective engines BEFORE you try and connect the remote to the train you are trying to operate. I found it challenging to try and operate 3 trains simultaneously with it. - My layout is a little gomez adams in that I run 5 trains on 3 main tracks with one siding. The fun part of my operation is trying to make sure the trains don't bump into each other. With 5 remotes in front of me I can adjust speeds per engine very quickly and keep things running smoothly. I found it tricky when one train was catching up to another and I had to remember which number on the remote that was and then select it but depending on the position of the speed lever the train might accelerate or decelerate in an unattended manner. I am going to stick to running the one train with the bad remote and use the dedicated remotes for the rest. But it's great to have the device as a troubleshooting tool if a unit stops working. (some of the trains also do bluetooth with a cell phone app - I prefer this unit to the app - I like having this unit no regrets about buying it.

Operates all Lionchief and Legacy engines that have Bluetooth functionality. Has controls for Horn/Whistle, Bell, Crew Talk, and front and rear electro couplers if the engine has them. It’s nice and simple to use if you aren’t keen to a legacy setup or just simply want to use a simpler setup for simpler engines. Has a very good range compered to using the Bluetooth app also.

Works good in place of phone app to control our granddaughter's train. She enjoys it more now that she is in charge.

Easy to pair with your engines. Will not work with TMMC engine. Does a great job on any lionchief engines

Lionel universal remote... Xmas locomotive running on track again

I bought a new Lionel Polar Express battery operated train for Christmas. It didn't come with a controller, so I called customer support and the person told me the train could be controlled by an app, which I was able to load onto my iphone, but it didn't work. When I called customer support a second time, the representative told me that the battery operated train could only be operated with this controller, so I purchased it. However, same problem. I turned both the train and the controller and as instructed. The train idled, but never moved. I tried many times with no success.

Easy to use. It’s like the regular Lionchief remote but better!! You can easily hook up three trains at once. I currently have The HO, S, O polar Express sets linked up to it. I did a test run for all three. They all work easily and synced with the remote. The great think is that you can press one of the three engine sets two times and it’ll set the speed of the train that was last set at the speed to one’s desire. Just update remote and follow the instructions manual to learn what I’m talking about. B
