Forty-five bucks for a square piece of plastic with a star on it. Forty-five American dollars! That’s two lattes a day for a week, or one decent bottle of wine. But did I hesitate? No. Because when the Amazon listing said “Genuine OE,” my brain heard “If you don’t buy this, the neighbors will think you drive a Honda with a Mercedes badge you glued on yourself.” Package shows up in that fancy Mercedes cardboard like it’s a birthday gift from Stuttgart. I rip it open, jog to the garage like a kid on Christmas, and—pop—slides in smoother than my salesman’s smile when I signed the papers. Perfect fit, zero rattle, and suddenly my hitch went from “construction-site refugee” to “Yes, I belong here.” The three-pointed star sits there all proud, gleaming like it’s saying, “That’s right, peasants—factory authorized.” Do I tow anything now? Still no. Will I ever? Probably not. But when I back into the country club parking spot and some guy in a Bentley glances over, he doesn’t see an empty hole—he sees commitment to the brand. That’s worth forty-five bucks all day. If you’ve got the square receiver and a mild-to-severe case of logo obsession, just get it. Your hitch deserves dignity too. Five stars and zero shame.

Cover itself is similar quality to other hitch covers that I’ve bought, just with a Mercedes logo. It has a snug fit which is great. The rubber lanyard is standard. Make sure to completely remove the whole piece (cover and lanyard) if you put a hitch in… don’t leave the lanyard dangling… lost the cover this way with the last one!
